  1. Superb job, love it.
  2. Very nice, you're right, an icon for the collection.
  3. After long last, I have completed this build. I probably started it at least 7 or 8 years ago. I'd check on it now and then, do 1 or 2 things to it, then back in the box. But I finally had the stamina to get it done. It is a resin kit mastered and made by Promolite (Tom Coolidge). I believe he sold the molds to another aftermarket company afterward, but I got this one from him. I was originally going to do a full detail build, but finally settled on this "curbside" build with the resin chassis. There's basically no underside detail, and what is there is not accurate as a Pontiac, but that's not important for this curbside. I added clear sheet plastic for all windows, bare metal foil where applicable and all the police accessories from my parts box. The Georgia State Patrol lettering is computer generated and the door emblem is Chimneyville. The decals were done way back when and were pretty tough to work with, but I finally got them to look the part. The whip antenna is scratch built from jewelry parts from Hobby Lobby. The fender light might be a bit big, I might change it to something smaller. Georgia State Patrol did use these Pontiacs, I have images of 1949 and 1950 models in this paint scheme. Here's a few images of the build...
  4. Very nice. Should have been re-tooled to a full detail kit, the body looks so great.
  5. Very very nice
  6. Thanks guys... Jeff, I've got plenty more to keep myself busy for my next life. Alberto, the bases are from one of the extra lightbars in a diecast Crown Vic, I believe the MotorMax version. I cut the ends off and just used them instead of the whole length of the base, then I sanded them down a bit to lower the height.
  7. Yeah, I'm sort of on a roll...I've got a ton of unfinished projects on my "bench", so I dug them out and I'm going to get them all done before I start another one... In that vain, here is a simple box stock snapper that I had painted the body to test some paint a couple of years ago. Only took me a couple of days to finish it up. Well, the paint turned out so good that I needed to finally finish it. Again, box stock Lindberg 1/25 police car kit, paint is Tamiya gunmetal, decals by Chimneyville, lightbar by DP Hobbies.
  8. Great job, you "capture" the details very nicely.
  9. Thanks Wayne, I'm aware they went with new markings recently, sort of like they're old 80s markings. The ebay seller has the new set and a vintage set as well, he's based out of Henderson, so I guess he's got access to a lot of NHP cars.
  10. That's a great experience Greg, nice job
  11. Built pretty much box stock from the Lindberg Charger police kit. Tamiya dark blue metallic covers the body. Interior detailed with some aftermarket printed computer screens and details. Lightbar also detailed with printed LED inserts. Decals by ebay seller policecardecals. Nice kit, but the instructions seemed to be very confusing at times...parts were mislabeled or numbered incorrectly for some reason. Parts fit under the hood are a bit finicky, too.
  12. In a class of its own...fantastic build, museum quality.
  13. Stunning
  14. Thanks for the memories Ron, I did have one, my first car. It was fun fun fun till daddy took my...well, you know.
  15. Very sharp.
  16. Wow, he pretty much nailed it. Nice job...now he needs to do the Dodge version.
  17. Mercy sakes alive! I can smell that thing all the way from Omaha. Or however it goes.... Great job.
  18. Superb, but that's just what I expect out of you.
  19. Here's a 57 Custom from the new kit and a 59 Custom, resin body from Promolite kit bashed with the old AMT 57 chassis.
  20. Beautiful. Could pass for one right off the assembly line.
  21. Very nice Rich, love the rare stuff
  22. Love it, great job. That's one conversion I've been wanting to do with the 67.
  23. Hey Luc...maybe our 69 Polara still has a chance? Maybe send it in again!
