  1. I found a great looking kit (2011 Camaro convertible) but it's only a curb side kit. I was after some advice and comments on whether it's possible to add an engine, and if so, how hard is it; where do I get the engine from; etc; etc. I understand the requirements for opening the hood, and that's no drama - just have no idea whether it's worth tracking down an engine and trying to install it. TIA
  2. Looking totally awesome so far. That interior is magic, and adding that pinstripe really sets off the colours. Got me thinking about using something similar on future builds.
  3. Looks like it's going to be an awesome build. Can't wait to see the end product!
  4. Beautiful build. Looks just as good as Bond's white version!
  5. I know I'm new, but what's the post about CAL? Are they scratch built??
  6. This kit is on my list too. Maybe when I finish my '70 Mustang Boss!
  7. This build is mind blowing. I thought I was clever making door hinges! The detail going into this build is off the scale
  8. Thanks Jim. The car is going to be the same blue as the engine, hence my standard-looking block.
  9. Thanks for the comments so far. The distributor is straight from the box. Should I remove the vacuum advance unit for a more realistic look?
  10. Got the engine all wired up today. This was my first wiring job, so I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out. I also modified the distributor from the one in the box. Happy to hear any comments about what I may have done wrong, or what I could do to improve.
  11. I agree with Lawrence. The finish on those kits is fantastic
  12. Pretty good result mate. But you're right about the colour!
  13. I love these old muscle cars. Looks like a beautiful build
  14. Hooray for Christmas holidays - plenty of time to spend building! I've been working flat out on this kit, mainly on the interior tub so thought I'd post an update. I've included the ref pic again. More detail on this build on my blog
  15. Looks great. Hope my '70 turns out that good!
  16. These mods look awesome. I'm loving seeing how you're doing them.
  17. Looks like an awesome kit (like the detail on the brakes) and you're doing a brilliant job. Can't wait to see it completed
  18. Managed to get some decent spare time to work on this little baby today. I managed to cut out the doors last week (link to my tutorial here), and today I've been working on the engine and the dashboard. Took me about 90 minutes to paint up the dashboard and I'm pretty happy with it, since it was all done freehand (no masking). There's a ref pic included.
  19. Being a huge fan of the movie, I've always seen this as a bit of a contentious issue. The Fury was only ever released in a shade of beige, and had a gold grille, plus gold on the side "spearline". Although Christine's engine is almost definitely from a Fury, I've always considered her body a Belvedere, since she has no gold on her at all. The only real difference between a Belvedere and a Fury was the engine and the gold trim, plus the Belvedere's options for different colours.
  20. Nice - especially for a snap kit. What's the system for the "hydraulics"? Just two positions, or something special?
