  1. After getting back into car builds, I've been trying to spice up the underside a bit. I usually just paint them semi-gloss black, but it feels like a "Yeah, whatever" colour. Not being a car enthusiast in real life, I don't know what colour I should be painting my undercarriage. Should I just stick with semi-gloss black, or maybe metallic black? And for more colourful detail, what about the steering components? Instructions always just say satin black, but again I find that boring. Any tips would be great.
  2. Coming along really well Joe. Looks like a lot of work/detail in that hatch!
  3. Pretty ambitious build, but it looks great already. I don't think I'd ever have the cajones to try something like this, but I can't wait to see how it turns out.
  4. Fantastic work. That seat looks amazing
  5. Absolutely gorgeous build. I love everything about it - the exterior paint, the foil, the interior, the engine........ Amazing
  6. Looks amazing. Can't wait to see the other pics
  7. Awesome work. Love that paint job
  8. An amazing story. You're doing a fantastic job, especially considering what you had to work with.
  9. Looks great. Hard choice on the paint issue though.
  10. Great start. Something I'll be keeping an eye on, too
  11. Gorgeous. Love the colour combo
  12. Absolutely amazing. Those wheels are sweet.
  13. That's cool. I saw some cartoon Vette's at a LHS the other day and came pretty close to buying it. Your build is giving me inspiration!
  14. Awesome. A crazy idea that's paid off in dividends
  15. Looks gorgeous. Can you give details of the kit please? I'd love to build one of these, but I can't find one with an engine.
  16. I LOVE corvettes, and it looks like you're off to a great start. Are you planning on wiring the engine? I have a '60 vette that I built a while back and it has some of the same problems that Ron mentioned. But they are a beautiful car. Next on my list is an '82
  17. Great work. I agree that the stock is better. Your background is great, too.
  18. Looks awesome Gary. It's weird, but I never thought of decal-ing the body before assembly. What's your workflow? Do you just clear-coat and then decal, or do you polish/wax and then decal. And being a newb at decals, do you apply a top coat of something to protect them?
  19. Gorgeous build Ken. Love the colour!
  20. Looks awesome Red
  21. Albie's right - that cut top looks sweet
  22. Those wheels are insane! Awesome work
  23. What a cool idea. I bet this will be a fun (but frustrating) build. Maybe we should all try something like this
  24. Gorgeous looking build so far. Just when I thought I had my body-painting sorted, you tell me about barrier coats!
  25. Thanks guys. Found a cheap 2in1 kit I can get my hands on.
