Got lucky today, went to Hobby Town USA and found some high def carbon fiber from Scale Motorsport for 10.99 then headed to Hobby Lobby for some paint and found that they had reset the model section and had a bunch of new kits and a ton of clearance kits. Ended up getting another 1970 Roadrunner for 10.xx! lol Got all this for 28.00 Untitled by jrherald420, on Flickr
  4. Sharp car! Man how cool would it be if dad still had just one of them !! Got the interior tub mounted to the body and the body to the chassis. Got to do the lettering on the tires, mirrors, BMF the door handles, mount the wheels and do some wash on the engine and cowl. After that its done! Man im tired, pics tomorrow bed time for now. Im sure my 2yr old will be up at 6am ready to go!! lol
  5. My dad had a Yellow Superbird, a Petty blue Superbird and a Roadrunner all in 1970 when he was working at Fisher Body and a Dodge dealer at the same time. Sadly he got divorced and the judge ordered him to sell off all 3 and give the money to his ex-wife along with the house they lived in at the time. The yellow bird had less than 2000 miles on it and the Blue one had 2 miles and was being stored on the dealers showroom floor till the divorce was over, she found out about it and told the judge.....
  6. Wow that's a lot of nice parts for 10.00!!
  7. Yup the one in M-boro. Ive bought every single can of spray paint they have had on clearance in the last 4 months! lol
  8. You guys are lucky!! Ours stays empty.
  9. They came with the kit. I have the old Petty edition (this one) and the new Street burner kit and both have the same decals except the sponsors are different if you choose to do a race inspired version. As far as the rims go according to this website ( http://aerowarriors.com/sss.html ) and my father who bought 2 of them new with Magnum 500's and also was a mechanic at a Dodge dealer, they were offered as an add on for extra money.
  10. Man our Hobby Lobby has yet to get the Rat Roaster in stock!! Nice score.
  11. Little bit more progress on the bird. Got the glass polished and installed, got the decals on and the tail light panel. Got some final assembly to do tonight, some touch up painting to do, some engine and chassis wash to add and this one is done. Sorry for the bad cell phone pics, didn't feel like getting out the DSLR....too lazy. 13. I didn't add anymore. Its now wired into a clear display case waiting for my father.
  14. Thanks guys, i feel a little bit better about it. Ill be giving it to my dad in 2 weeks at my sons 2nd birthday party along with the 1970 Superbird i'm working on in the same color. He knows about the Superbird but not this one.
  15. I see. Not surprised that this model has wrong parts.
  16. I was copying a factory cars look.
  17. Thanks guys! Yes they are included in the kit. The Superbird kits i'm working on both have these rims included along with the Magnum 500's.
  18. Thanks everyone! I did have fun building it.
  19. Thanks! The color is 1969 GM Daytona Yellow.
  20. Thank you. I will be building this one again.
  21. Thanks guys! I will be building this one again to add to my collection.
  22. Finished it today, i must say that i don't like it. My dad will love it, guess that's all that matters. I have to add more wash to the body lines. Oh well, here's a few pictures. 23. Finished it today, i must say that i don't like it. My dad will love it, guess that's all that matters. This kit has a few fitment issues that bit me, i normally pre-fit everything before painting and didn't on this one. Turns out that the black hood stripe isn't a very solid black and when i put it on the hood you could almost see through it. I also have to add more wash to the body lines. Oh well, here's a few pictures. IMG_8915 by jrherald420, on Flickr
  24. Thumbs up!! I want to build this kit sometime.
