Never thought to do that, i just sand out scratches in stages all the way to 3500 grit then paint. Ill have to try this on the next build.- 125 replies

Never heard of that. I only polish the paint or clear coat, not the bare kit plastic. Unless you are not painting the body and are just going to clear over it.- 125 replies

Yup sharpies work well. Another marker i use is Prismacolor markers. They are high dollar art markers with a small tip on one end and a flat chisel tip on the other end. They are $$$ but using a 40% off coupon from Michaels or Hobby Lobby makes them affordable and they last along time if you keep the lids on them and they come in a ton of colors that other markers do not. I also use the tooth pick trick when i need to use paint. It works great also.

Another little tip, an easy way to do little buttons like that is with colored pencils or colored markers. I use colored pencils a lot when doing brake lines on muscle cars. Oh and the buttons look fine, i might do more different colors but they look good to me.

I haven't done one but its on the "want to build list".

Looks like the Honda NSX from Tamiya.

Walmart brand flat white also works good, just needs a light sanding to take the rough texture away. Give it a try, 2.00 compared to 10+ shipping and its almost 3 times the size.

Yeah that's a bit of overkill. lol You must spend more on paint for the model than the cost of the kit your building.

You should be fine, i almost never use primer on parts, even when painting the body i don't use primer unless there was heavy body work done or filler used. I've had lifting/paint moving away from an area happen when i didn't wash the parts tree in warm soapy water.
