Thanks. I don't think there is one model out that doesn't have some sort of inaccuracy to it. I just enjoy building them and sometimes putting on my own touches. -

Just finished up the BMF on the window trim and decided to also BMF the door handles instead of painting them like i always used to do. Windows are also installed. IMG_8797 by jrherald420, on Flickr IMG_8798 by jrherald420, on Flickr -

Thanks guys. I agree a wash would be helpful. I've still got to wash the door lines so ill work it in on the seats. -
LOL Not really, he got burned out on cars before i was born so we never had any cool cars growing up. He did teach me how to work on them. That was about it.

This was started as a fathers day gift but we ended up moving out of state and it was put on hold. My dad owned a Road Runner at the same time as both of his Superbirds. Not sure on what color it was so i built this one to kinda mirror the Superbird build i have going. The paint color is GM Daytona Yellow. Body painted, cleared, buffed and the side markers hand painted along with engine bay. IMG_8691 by jrherald420, on Flickr Interior pic, ignition keys and seat belts really the only thing added inside along with Embossing powder acting as the carpet. Just noticed i didn't paint the shifter boot black. IMG_8689 by jrherald420, on Flickr Boring engine.....still have to add PCV from the valve covers. IMG_8688 by jrherald420, on Flickr One more for the road!!! Going to work on foiling around the window frames now. IMG_8687 by jrherald420, on Flickr

My dad decided he wanted to build a replica of his 1970 Superbird he bought new in 70 (he owned 2, one yellow the other blue). Back in 2000 he bought this kit and had me paint it for him. A few months ago i saw the kit in the closet and asked about it, turns out he can no longer do stuff like this due to his diabetes getting so bad. So i offered to finish it for him. First thing was to strip the paint and sand off the body lines. Before IMAG0978 by jrherald420, on Flickr After IMG_8694 by jrherald420, on Flickr After Bare metal foil around the trim. IMG_8711 by jrherald420, on Flickr IMG_8712 by jrherald420, on Flickr Engine wired and heater core hoses ran, still have to do the PVC system on each valve cover. IMG_8696 by jrherald420, on Flickr The interior, i wanted to strip it all down and redo it but dad did glue and paint it so im wanting to leave it pretty much as he did it with some additions like window cranks, ignition keys and seat belts (coming soon) just so he still feels like he had a part in building it. I'm working on 2 of these at the moment. Man that top had to be super fun to sand off!!

Blame it on the weather.

I just step outside in between the storms spray the color then bring it inside and let it dry in the extra bathroom with the pooper fan going. I have yet to have a problem. -
If those are the wheels that will be on the car, the front needs to be lowered to look right. The rears sit just right.

Sweet looking build! -
I'm glad to hear it was just me! lol That is what i encountered every time i built it, never felt like trying to fix it either. By the time it came to mount the chassis and body i was fed up with the whole kit.
