  1. Thank you. Finishing work on the engine, interior and chassis tonight. Id love to have it finished tomorrow morning.
  2. Nice work! Is the green car in the back ground one i saw in a current magazine as a build?
  3. Yeah i hate to say it but.............the wife was right on the color!
  4. Getting there................ IMAG1007 by jrherald420, on Flickr
  5. Decal time! IMAG1006 by jrherald420, on Flickr
  6. Same thing i'm using. Haven't had any trouble out of shelf life. I have had 2 bottles for 3 years now, only opened one and both still look milky white.
  7. I agree, i do as well unless i can tack it in with some fast setting glue. I love it for headlights as well, got to love it drying clear and not foggy. I've been using the Testors brand.
  8. Starting on the BMF and decals in a few. Will have pictures tonight.......i hope!
  9. This car is on my wish list, when i get it ill be using yours as a guide!! That interior and paint are great!!
  10. Very sick build!! I would hate to find out how many hours you have invested in it!!! Worth each one!!
  11. Looks good. With rotors that big i would have drilled them just as some more eye candy
  12. Clean looking build.
  13. Not going for a factory look here. Going for a restored 70's style drag car with retarded bright paint! lol I think the semi gloss black looks way to glossy, i'm going to spray it with some Model master semi gloss to try and knock off some shine. The embossing powder i got at Hobby Lobby, its in the isle with the stamps. I just use good old white Elmers glue and brush it where i want the look of carpet and sprinkle it on then dump the excess off and back in the jar and let dry. IMAG0996 by jrherald420, on Flickr
  14. Figured i would start my first build thread so here it is, feel free to tell me what i'm doing wrong or your HONEST opinions on the build. No need to sugar coat anything with me, i have very thick skin. First thing, i did not pick out the paint color, My wife did! She is the money maker and said i could buy the kit if i painted it whatever color she picked out. Figured i would try and go with a 70's drag racing feel to the paint job. The kit decals will be used and i will try to tint the windows a light yellow. Might try Future and food coloring for that. Here is the body painted, cleared, polished and waxed, just waiting for BMF and decals! Sorry for the crappy cell phone pictures!! IMAG0983 by jrherald420, on Flickr IMAG0982 by jrherald420, on Flickr IMAG0995 by jrherald420, on Flickr Here's a not so good picture of the interior. I don't think i like how the black dash pad looks, might paint it to match the rest of the interior when i can see it in the body. Also since its a drag car and weight is an issue i might only go with a drivers seat and no center console. Roll bar is painted to match the body color. Carpet is embossing powder, i think the color is called brown sugar. IMAG0984 by jrherald420, on Flickr IMAG0990 by jrherald420, on Flickr Little bit of work on the chassis but not much. Color was a semi gloss black but it looked full gloss. I painted it with some dull coat, the frame rails will be repainted with a true semi gloss black. Letters were removed from the gas tank only. Engine was painted the new hemi orange, looks more red than orange. Also the valve covers were kept chrome but painted with dull coat to tone them down. Engine will be wired. 15. I'm sure this has been answered a few times but i cant find it yet. What is the best way to strip off Faskolor lexan paint? My dad wanted me to paint this body for him back in 2001. He brought me his airbrush, this paint and the model and said i want it this color. I did not know what i was doing, it was sprayed at almost 80 psi with the wrong paint and has sat and cured for 12 years now. Its a water based paint if that helps. Am almost tempted to sand the runs smooth and try to airbrush over it with an acrylic paint. Any suggestions? IMAG0978 by jrherald420, on Flickr IMAG0981 by jrherald420, on Flickr
  16. I remember someone used the red on a exotic car build, it looked pretty good.
  17. Build it how YOU want it. I must say that the quality of your last few builds i have saw led me to think you had been building for some time now. I am still deciding if i want to paint the engine bay a semi gloss black or leave it the emerald green color like the body. I will be making a build thread for it today.
  18. Dang 15 bucks!! Wow. That's a nice stock pile, most of mine is Hobby Lobby clearance. Just decided to get back into airbrushing for the 4th time. Hoping it will save me some coin, i cant keep spending 6 bucks on color and another 6 on clear on top of the cost of the kit. My 20 month old son takes a lot of daddy's hobby money.
  19. I've been wanting this kit for some time now. Looks great so far!
  20. That's because the engine you posted is a new Hemi, its got fuel injection and coil on plug ignition. Hey all that matters is that your happy!! Keep up the great building! One last thing, just wondering how much you spent on all the spray paint and jar paint? Id love to drop the cash and buy a stock pile like that!
