Revell S.E 1/25 1968 Dodge Charger R/T (Hemified).

Its all up to you, i build to resemble the real thing. The distributor is small but its not hard to do with a pin vise and a small clamp to hold the tiny thing.- 125 replies

Id rather see a hole drilled in the center of the distributor and all the wires ran there. Just looks better IMO and its easier than trying to drill out each wire.- 125 replies

Oh trust me i know. I haven't made a build thread for it yet, i might do it tonight. I sanded out the lines but couldn't do much with the dimple next to the drip rail on the rear side windows....guess that means some decals will have to go there! lol- 125 replies

Looks good so far. I am also building this kit as the drag car right now. One thing i hope you will start doing is sanding out the mold lines on the body. Its a shame to see nice paint laid over seams like whats on the quarter panel behind the side window.- 125 replies

Thanks! Forgot to add that stuff that was brushed, like the engine bay and interior, were done using those super soft plastic Testors brushes...lol didn't know of any other kind at the time!!! -

Thanks! Now i feel really bad for finding my all my dads models in boxes in the basement and smashing them up for fun. I did, i cleaned the inside of the case, rewired the hold downs since i didnt do a very good job back then doing it and taped it back up. -

That's a great idea!! Thank you, my dad is very protective of it. He was telling me little story's about taking it away from my older brothers that were looking at it too rough! lol -

Best i can remember, i started building models in 1995. This was one of the first 10 i ever built. I remember i built it as a gift so i had a reason to build a model and to get my mom to buy me the Testors paint it during Xmas time. I think this was the first rattle can paint job that i did that came out without runs or junk landing in the paint. -

Oh its missing a lot!!! lol I could rip it apart and re do everything but then it wouldn't be a survivor. My oldest built model right now is a whopping 3 year old!! -
Sexy!!

I built this model when i was 13 or 14 yrs old, so around 1995 or 1996. Back before i knew there was a better kind of glue than the Testors red tube, before i knew that it didnt take a huge glob of glue to hold a tiny part and what the reason for clear coat was. The reason the hood and air cleaner are on the hood and roof is i remember scratching the paint pretty good. lol It was a Xmas gift to my dad that year, he owned a few Mopars back in the day and this was one he always talked about. I look at it now and think man what a pile of junk but my dad looks at it and remembers the days of driving it around town and racing stop light to stop light. Makes me feel good that he still has it. P.S. I didn't have to wipe off any dust before taking these pictures, i cracked the case open for the first time since i put it on and there wasn't any dust on the model after all these years!!! I like the rims, i have a set of them i am waiting to use. I think they came from a Nomad kit. Where did the rotors come from?
-
Thanks. I hope my next builds are as nice and as fun as this one was.
-
Maybe they got tired of paying the licencing fees to the tire company's. Only reason i could think of, just another way of saving money in this economy.
-
I love the bolts!! Detailing a 1/12 scale just takes it to another level.
-
Great job, how did you like the kit? I've been thinking about finding one to build.
-
I have to ask, where did you find the duck at??? That's the coolest part if this build! Just wouldn't have been Death Proof without it.
-
Looks killer, only flaw i see is the huge sidewall on the kits tires. That's my biggest pet peeve with newer kits.
-
I like it. Something about WRC cars i like, guess its how the are driven!

Thanks everyone. Didn't have a chance to snap better pics last night, I was working on the next 3 builds.
