  1. That sucks to hear about the decal issues, it's a great model nonetheless
  2. Thank you everyone, the compliments are very encouraging! I forgot to attach some interior pictures so here's a few Thanks again!
  3. Nice chassis work Stan, I think I've changed my mind on the chevelle...
  4. Very nice looking front end Niko
  5. Thank you Robert! Now I'm working on a 1970 chevelle with a tunnel rammed 572, I don't think I'll post it as it's going to be a pretty quick build.
  6. You're very right, "The Gold Car" is a pretty wicked mustang even though Varley and his sons are having trouble putting the power to the ground http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=69587&hl=
  7. Beautiful Mustang! the paint is stunning
  8. Thank you Dan! Scott, if I remember right, its Nissan orange by plasticoat, I don't love the shade (I would love it if it was slightly more burnt orange) but it is great paint! it shoots great from the can and dries smoothly. Mark, I thought the same thing, I'm a huge HotRod and Roadkill fan and this thing would make a great dragweek car! Thank you Ron, saying its a pretty wicked 302, it would probably be a 9 second car at the dragstrip. Thank you Jose! I appreciate it Oscar! Thanks Bruce, with a pretty short wheel base it would probably be a wheelie machine! Thank you Peter! Thanks Glenn, its a good kit, the only issue I had, was the dash interfered with the body a little bit, but that could be because of the cage, or other modifications I made to the interior. A little super glue eradicated that problem though Thank you Sean, you do some incredible work! Thank you John and Andy, I think it makes a great shelf model, I'm not quite skilled enough to be a contest contender (if my small area even had any contests) Thank you Carl, I'm glad you like it! Tony, thank you! you do some inspiring work! Thank you Chris, I put more detail into this than I've done on my past builds. Mike, thank you too, I appreciate your feedback!
  9. Very nice model, the paint color looks great!
  10. The body looks amazing, did you clean up mold lines then just start polishing?
  11. Sure some things look out of scale, but it looks like a great start, it's very clean and overall, a well built model
  12. Thanks Alan, the slicks are actually nascar tires with the lettering sanded off, they make a pretty good looking 8.5/9 inch slick Thank you Ron, one day I'll be building models as nice, detailed and clean as yours are
  13. Clayton, thank you! Thanks Stan for following along, I appreciate your input.
  14. It's looking great Stan, I agree that some type of front spoiler/air dam would look good on the car.
  15. It looks fantastic Ron! Very nice craftsmanship
  16. I recently completed the new revell five liter kit, here's the buildup http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=89609&page=10#entry1234298 I did quite a bit of scratch building, I scratch built an 8.50 legal cage, mini tubbed it, and too much more to list, check out the build. Here's the pictures, it came out pretty good but I'm not in love with the shade if paint More pictures to come
  17. It's all finished up, here's a few pictures of it finished, here's a link to the post in under glass http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=92204&st=0&p=1234302
  18. That's good to hear Bill, it's too bad that the only thing you really wanted from the kit was missing
  19. everything looks phenomenal, where is the cone air filter from?
  20. The honesty and integrity is going away in this country, people will do anything to make a buck.
  21. Ron, thank you, I've been making fittings for quite a while now but I've never ran fuel lines to a pump/sump. I'm very happy with the outcome. Glenn, thank you! I try my best, I also enjoy seeing what I can make with different materials. Clayton, I appreciate it, thanks man! Mike, life comes before my modeling so I don't have a whole lot to put towards models, that's why I scratch build anything that doesn't really need to be bought, besides the fact I enjoy turning nothing into something. Stan, thank you for following along, I'm heading off to bed but my goal after work tomorrow is to finish it up and shoot some photos of it!
  22. Looking good Ron, what did you make the valve stem from?
  23. Thank you everybody for the feedback, I love hearing what you have to say, right now I have to finish painting the chassis, and finish all of the plumbing. After that I'll glue the chassis to the finished body and interior. Here's some teaser pictures of what's been occupying me tonight Drilling out the ends of plastistruct rods to make fittings, fun! And a teaser of the sump and pump. I honestly can say I more than exceeded my expectations for how this would turn out, this is my first time trying this. Nothing is glued in yet as I still have to finish painting the chassis, it's just mocked up. Everything but the braided line is scratch built, my 15 year old income doesnt quite support pro tech or rb motion fittings
  24. Here in Oregon, my Vega has zero rust (if you've had any experience with how bad they rust). This car is solid, I can't find a spot of real rust damage anywhere, some little surface rust in some small areas where the paint was chipped off but no damage. After I get it running and looking good I'll start at $6500, I use craigslist quite a bit, so I've dealt with my fair share of flakes and scammers. Usually I say in my add "don't contact me unless you have cash in hand." That seems to work pretty well.
