  1. OK, I'm back. I had a project that got in the way of this. The engine is mostly done, with a few vintage parts. The rear end -from a 1/8 Camaro -has been narrowed, and the gap on the top filled. It's being converted to a buggy spring and Big T backing plate and drums. The front axle is a Big T. The front crossmember will have to be modded to fit the Lindberg radiator shell.
  2. Maroon will look nice on that. How about a dark silver/metallic gray stripe on the hood/ Kind of like the 67 Vette had/ JMHO.
  3. They take up a lot of room don't they? I used to have one of those, and I still have 2 65's. Great work. Can't wait to see it finished.
  4. That's an amazing build,Frank.
  5. I think the floor pan is included w/ the latest Big T. It's a flat piece of white plastic. I don't have the instructions, but I have the 'blow up' that shows all of the parts at the beginning of the instructions.. I'll look for it. Here's a pic of mine.
  6. Yes,wagons have been ignored by the model comapnies for way too long. And the mid 50's Buick,Olds, and Pontiacs.
  7. OK,this would be a good one for Ira. Here's a drawing I made from a screenshot in the movie. I actually built a model of this, but used an AMT '53 Ford. The dish on the back is the bottom of a Pepsi can,and the contral wheels on the side are the custom steering wheels from the AMT '57 chevy. The wheels are from Ron cash. If I remember right, someone made a resin '52 Ford grille.
  8. A Peanut Mobile? Never heard of it. Greg, are you going to make a resin version of this? LOL
  9. Nice build. Yes,I know what you mean about the ride height.
  10. I've used it for a long time. it seems that the older the paint, the longer it takes to remove it. And it will remove body putty, too. it doesn't hurt clear parts, but don't use it on chrome.
  11. LOL I thought of this when I read the title. My HUGE Mistake.mov.mp4
  12. Too cool! I always liked those trucks because they were so unusual. nice build!
  13. That's what I thought. I guess that's why I kept the magazine all these years.
  14. OK. This ought to be interesting. The picture shows the truck I've been wanting to build for a long time.It was in an issue of Rod & custom magazine in the early 70's. I bought a Big T frame the other daymand started. The wheelbase comes out to around 15.3". I cut the frame off right before the kick up,and made some new rails. I'me using a Bit T front suspension, with a Camaro rear end w/ buggt spring. The engine will be Monogram's Chevy with a 4 barrel carb and intake from the PE62 engine kit. The body is going to be scratch built from styrene and I may use basswood for the bed.I figured it's going to be around 23" when it's done. Then I'll have to find a place to put it...

Nice perspective ,if that's the right word...
  16. I would think that a dark blue would look better and have more contrast with the orange fenders. That's what I'm going to use.
  17. Don't forget the whitewall tires that most service trucks didn't have... I'll use them on something else....
  18. I got mine a few days ago.
  19. Steven, I'm building a stock white over black hardtop. Thanks for the pics. Yeah,I might paint instead with some careful masking. I remember the original kit had stickers that went on the seats. I think they were gray.
  20. Hmmm Sound interesting. I might have to try that. Thanks
  21. Thanks,Joe. I've never heard of it. Is it a peel and stick vinyl or decal film?
  22. Does anyone know where I might find a set of decals for the interior of AMT's '57 Bel Air? I would like to find decals to go over the textured part of the seat. I can paint them, but decals would look better, I think. I'm needing black one. Where could I get black decal film? There's no hobby shops around here. Thanks!
  23. Here it is. Not sure how he got this. All I've seen is 'pre order'. nice decals.
  24. I was surprised to see that trailer in the kit, too. But I think I know why it's there. The Fireball 500 kit is currently available,so they just molded a few extra trailers while production is in progress. I used to work in a factory that molded plastic. It's just a way to cut costs.
