1960 Chevrolet Apache Step side

Nice build! Some people don't like the looks of the 1960-61,but I do. There's just something about them. -
1950 Ford pickup

Nice build! I like that kit too. -
Really nice! Love the old gassers!

I guess this qualifies as a pickup. I usually don't build customs ,and I know some of you probably won't like it ,but here it is. It kind of evolved anyway, since it started as a stepside. the back of the cab is a '53 Ford pickup and the bed is a '50 Ford convertible. The front end is from the '50 Ford ,as well as the wheels ,engine, and part of the grame. The dash was shaved so that the speedo is the only thing left. The skirts I found on Ebay and are vintage AMT.The paint is Tamiya white with light green pearl flames, also Tamiya. I used a flame template I found on Ebay, too. not bad for a first attempt I think. The visor was scratch built,as was the back end. It's called Wildfire ,and those of you that watch 'A Game Of Thrones ' will know why..

today at Joe's garage we got a cherry AMT '49 Ford coupe. Just as clean as the day it was molded. Well almost.... This baby can be yours today for just 175 smackers! Look at that chassis! Just as clean as the top! Well ,almost.... And because I like your face,I'll throw in the bumper stickers for free. Waddya say? OK. This was built as a memory from my youth. there used to be cars like this at the used car lots. You might think $175 was cheap, but that was a months pay on 1965. the bumper stickers are hard to see ,but one is a 'Re-elect Ike and dick' and the other says something about Commies, that I won't go into here. Just a fun build. So,have we got a sale? Huh?

I'm in for the Datsun too! -
Are you still doing work like that? You really should.

Chuck < . I looked and the windshield area is fine thankfully. nice to know about the fit. I saw the CB radio and I figured that dated it to the 70's.

OK. I got this today. The old Firestone version. Box was sealed. I'm not going to unbag everything now,but I scanned the instructions. There's a metal axle on the front, but it looks like it might be easy to convert to poseable steering. not much chrome, but I like the wheels. They were very popular with mini truckers back then. .

Great build! -
Close. It's acrylic on illustration board. Thanks for the comments!

Is the old AMT courier kit worth buying? The bed looks similar to the one in the MPC Datsun kit. I like the Firestone version ,but it's $40 or more.

1953 Ford F-100, old & used

Nice! In the 60's the company my Dad worked for had one just like that. -
I've used Chrome Tech USA several times with good results. Some people can use Alclad and make it look like chrome. I can't...

Datsun 620 Pickup
pharoah replied to pharoah's topic in 1:1 Reference Photos: Auto Shows, Personal vehicles (Cars and Trucks)
They were nice trucks. The chassis in the garage was my last one in 2009. I found a stepside bed (really hard to find now) and it needed work. Around that time,I had three of them. 2 73's and a 78 longbed. Neighbors probably though I was nuts. Maybe they were right. LOL Ended up selling all of them a few years later.
