  1. x 2: very good-looking Mack, Michael !
  2. Thanks, Al ! Thanks, Doug - but this seems fairly exaggerated -. there are lots of modelers here on the board that build better models. Thanks, Trevor - I like these bodystyles.
  3. Thank you, Mike - I like those body styles (the Galaxie was the Blueprinter reissue - I ordered 2, built one stock and cut the roof off the second to transform this into a convertible) Thanks, Eric ! Thank you, Chris, I don't remember the name of the color, but back then I bought a bunch of duplicolor automotive laquers at a big sale and used them for different car kits. Thank you, Bart, for the compliments! Thank you, Roy - this is one of my better models. Thanks Carl - I have sold off most of my American car models, but will keep this one. Thanks, David. Thank you, Terry. Glad you like them, Terry - I can only imagine how it would have been cruising along in a '64 Galaxie...
  4. Thanks, Tom! Thank you , Rusty! Thanks, Chris! Thank you, Hector. Thanks, Lee! Thanks, Dan ! Thanks, Gene - glad you like them! Thank you, Michelle! Thanks, Mark!
  5. Thanks, Tim - I like them, too ! I got them on ebay over the last few years, some very cheap: for example, I let pass an Abarth for € 20,00, because I already have 3 of them, I won a second Alfa Romeo (Bertone) Carabo for about 15 € only because of its missing windshield (I will replace this with a piece from orange or yellow tinted ski goggles). If you don't look for perfection, sometimes you can get some real bargains - and well, we are modelers, aren't we? The OSI Alfa Romeo 1600 is missing its windshield wiper - no problem at all ! You are right, JT - only the De Tomaso is a bit distorted, but have already found some perfect Fujimi wheels in 1/24 with wide rubber that fit like a glove and look like the real ones - sometimes those old diecasts offer opportunities for little money. It will be redone (don't like the yellow and black paint) - when it is finished, it will look similar to this one:
  6. amt's reissue from 1995 - painted with automotive laquer rattle cans - my first intensive use of Bare metal foil (a lot was needed !) - built in 1995/96, pics are from 2005 and 2008: and here with its company cousins...
  7. Well done model of this awesome TransAm racer of the late Dan Gurney!
  8. x 3 ! Tim, many thanks for helping to bring back this one - this is my second holy grail in truck models beside the "little-window"359 - can't wait to get it!
  9. As Richard (Snake 45) said: the Welly version is available in red and silver/bluemetallic (here are a few pics of mine) - looks very good to me : doors and hood open (NO doglegs!), all it would need is a little paint detailing, but for a price of € 15,00 (ca. 17 $) you can hardly complain - here it is:
  10. x 2 - this is a fantastic conversion kt!
  11. Here are some italian-made Politoys models from ca. 1970: Toys back then (everything opens, working steering), but a good base for improvement: aside from the de Tomaso Mangusta which is toolong and too flat, bodies have rather good proportions. Here are: Abarth 2000 SP (2 - ltr. sports prototype, 1968), Alfa Carabo (Bertone dream car, 1968) and de Tomaso Mangusta (model is of the 1966 prototype) and the 1966 OSI Scarabeo (Alfa Romeo):
  12. Well done, Tim - you made it look much more realistic! A little TLC can really make the difference and you can enhance the look of the whole model. I like that, too.
  13. Very nice build of this early mopar, Gareth - I love the cleanlook with the blackwall tires (I think you used a lot of Bare-metal foil on this one!)
  14. Very nice builds, Douglas!
  15. How could I miss this one? Great model, Paul - I think I need also one of these...
  16. Very nice, Bart - I have a soft spot for the '66 Batmobile - it brings back childhood memories. Very interesting to see it side-by-side with the Lincoln Futura: you can clearly see the similarities, but at the same time the differences
  17. Could yours be a built-up of Sankyo's 1931 Alfa Romeo Gran Sport (has been reissued in 1970 by Midori, in 1975 by Union, in the 80's once again by Union, and finally in the late 80's by Revell)
  18. Here are 2 pictures of the QR from the 2010 "Alfa Romeo Centenary Collection":
  19. You have a Lancia B 24 Spyder in between those Alfas, Gary (the silver one with red interior)
  20. Very nice build, Alan - the 1963 championship winning car of my favorite driver.
  21. Thanks, Trevor - most of my built-ups are "old school" - no airbrush, trim in most cases silver paint, no expensive aftermarket parts...
  22. Sorry, pics should be below and not above...
  23. I have built one in the '80s - it was called "Street fighter" it had quite a few issues (IIRC, it could not be built stock, but only as a street rod/lowrider) - here was my built-up:
  24. Thank you, Steve - I painted it with spray-cans I had at hand, trim is silver Humbrol paint.
