  1. According to Scalemates, this one dates from 1977 (very first release)
  2. Thank you, Rob - her is a picture of the kit I built back then (from ebay.com)
  3. Hi, Robert, yesterday I posted in the "under glass" car section some pics of the initial (Monogram) version of this kit - out-of-the-box: it was molded in red plastic, built well (I don't remember any issues) - this one has the radial tires with raised lettering - I built it in 1985, the kit was made in about 1979 - IIRC.
  4. Just happened to see this Mk II, Chang - the interior is the best I've ever seen from this Jag - it looks like the real thing !
  5. Don't know how I could miss this beauty - excellent !
  6. Thank you for the compliments, Josh ! Thank you Mike (I'm certainly aware of all the shortcomings and/or mistakes in all of my builds).
  7. Very nice build of this old Heller kit, Rich - I know that they are not easy to put together (I've done a few in the past)
  8. Thank you Gary, as I don't find enough time for building at the moment, I have to bore you with some of my old builds... Thanks, Mike!
  9. I bet your father was pleased with his present !
  10. These are the kit wire wheels, Albert: Italeri introduced them with their 250 GTO (see photo below) and used them later for the 250 California Spider, the 250 SWB and the 365 GTB/4 Daytona.
  11. Thanks, Curtis ! Merci, Philippe ! Thank you, Michael - where did you find those kidney bean (Halibrand ?) wheels for your Corvette? Thanks, Harry !
  12. Thank you Josh - but the paint is not very good - you still can see the edges of the masking tape.
  13. Once again 2 oldies from about 1985 - I have them still in my collection: Monogram 1/24 Chevrolet Corvette in 2 versions: The first one is straight out of the box : interior unpainted, body brush-painted with Humbrol clear gloss directly onto the bare plastic, the side coves with Humbrol gloss white, trim is silver paint: The second underwent some modifications to turn it into some kind of traffic light racer: wheels and tires are custom parts from amt's '56 Ford Victoria, hood has been cut out for an additional blower, exhaust pipes from the parts box, roll bar and wheelie-bars are homemade, body color is sprayed from a rattle-can as is the semigloss black interior. Decals come from the spare parts box ("409" is fake - it has the stock small-block Chevy engine: Here are the two together - the street machine will get a respray someday - the decals show bubbles and the small sponsor decals I don't like anymore - will look a bit more tasteful when done (I hope!)
  14. Super model, fantastic paint - and great photos !
  15. Thank you, Albert - don't hesitate - just start it (we all are hoarding and collecting way too many kits instead of building them...)
  16. Thank you, JT - you have always the possibility to paint it in orange, if you like...
  17. Thank you, Dominik, I have sold off about 80 of my built American car kits, but I'll keep this one (together with about 25 others)
  18. Here is another one (though it is a '60 model, it could have been made in fall of '59) - JoHan Plymouth police station wagon, built as a civilian car - rattle-can spray-painted, trim Humbrol silver brushed on:
  19. Hello Michael, I just found some pics of Scuderia Filipinetti's 512 F on the French Slotracing site: https://lemans.slot-racing.fr/le-mans-1971/ferrari-512F-7-spirit.html This car raced only once (Le Mans 1971) and DNF after an accident: The main difference between the model and the real car is the full-width rear wing. Here you can clearly see the narrower, smaller cockpit in comparison with the team's second car (# ? and the Penske 512 M of Mark Donohue (# 11):
  20. Thank you, Anders - don't know about my brush paintins skills today - this has been 35 years ago, and I had perfectly suited enamel paint at hand back then.
  21. Hello Michael, the body of this 512 M looks more like the Scuderia Fiipinetti car, which was nicknamed "512 F" (modified by Michael Parkes with a lower and much smaller cockpit than the regular 512 M. The other car of this series is the 1972 Alfa Romeo 33 which I bought a blue one for € 10 at the Padua (Italy) classic car fair 7 years ago, and a second one (white) I won on ebay for € 1,00 = starting price, I was the only bidder (postage cost me 15 € from the Netherlands, though)
  22. Excellent build of this muscle car - looks better than the real thing !
  23. Thanks for the compliments, Josh ! Thanks, Chris !
  24. Excellent model, Rich - a joy to look at! I'm glad that I have got some Fisher resin cars waiting to be built (Chaparral 2 F, Porsche 917 longtail "Hippie" and 917/20 "pink pig", Ferrari 512 S coda lunga and 512 M "Sunoco")
  25. wonderful model, Thomas (my preferred racing era)- are these wheels still available?
