  1. Thank you Gary, as I don't find enough time for building at the moment, I have to bore you with some of my old builds... Thanks, Mike!
  2. I bet your father was pleased with his present !
  3. These are the kit wire wheels, Albert: Italeri introduced them with their 250 GTO (see photo below) and used them later for the 250 California Spider, the 250 SWB and the 365 GTB/4 Daytona.
  4. Thanks, Curtis ! Merci, Philippe ! Thank you, Michael - where did you find those kidney bean (Halibrand ?) wheels for your Corvette? Thanks, Harry !
  5. Thank you Josh - but the paint is not very good - you still can see the edges of the masking tape.
  6. Once again 2 oldies from about 1985 - I have them still in my collection: Monogram 1/24 Chevrolet Corvette in 2 versions: The first one is straight out of the box : interior unpainted, body brush-painted with Humbrol clear gloss directly onto the bare plastic, the side coves with Humbrol gloss white, trim is silver paint: The second underwent some modifications to turn it into some kind of traffic light racer: wheels and tires are custom parts from amt's '56 Ford Victoria, hood has been cut out for an additional blower, exhaust pipes from the parts box, roll bar and wheelie-bars are homemade, body color is sprayed from a rattle-can as is the semigloss black interior. Decals come from the spare parts box ("409" is fake - it has the stock small-block Chevy engine: Here are the two together - the street machine will get a respray someday - the decals show bubbles and the small sponsor decals I don't like anymore - will look a bit more tasteful when done (I hope!)
  7. Super model, fantastic paint - and great photos !
  8. Thank you, Albert - don't hesitate - just start it (we all are hoarding and collecting way too many kits instead of building them...)
  9. Thank you, JT - you have always the possibility to paint it in orange, if you like...
  10. Thank you, Dominik, I have sold off about 80 of my built American car kits, but I'll keep this one (together with about 25 others)
  11. Here is another one (though it is a '60 model, it could have been made in fall of '59) - JoHan Plymouth police station wagon, built as a civilian car - rattle-can spray-painted, trim Humbrol silver brushed on:
  12. Hello Michael, I just found some pics of Scuderia Filipinetti's 512 F on the French Slotracing site: https://lemans.slot-racing.fr/le-mans-1971/ferrari-512F-7-spirit.html This car raced only once (Le Mans 1971) and DNF after an accident: The main difference between the model and the real car is the full-width rear wing. Here you can clearly see the narrower, smaller cockpit in comparison with the team's second car (# ? and the Penske 512 M of Mark Donohue (# 11):
  13. Thank you, Anders - don't know about my brush paintins skills today - this has been 35 years ago, and I had perfectly suited enamel paint at hand back then.
  14. Hello Michael, the body of this 512 M looks more like the Scuderia Fiipinetti car, which was nicknamed "512 F" (modified by Michael Parkes with a lower and much smaller cockpit than the regular 512 M. The other car of this series is the 1972 Alfa Romeo 33 which I bought a blue one for € 10 at the Padua (Italy) classic car fair 7 years ago, and a second one (white) I won on ebay for € 1,00 = starting price, I was the only bidder (postage cost me 15 € from the Netherlands, though)
  15. Excellent build of this muscle car - looks better than the real thing !
  16. Thanks for the compliments, Josh ! Thanks, Chris !
  17. Excellent model, Rich - a joy to look at! I'm glad that I have got some Fisher resin cars waiting to be built (Chaparral 2 F, Porsche 917 longtail "Hippie" and 917/20 "pink pig", Ferrari 512 S coda lunga and 512 M "Sunoco")
  18. wonderful model, Thomas (my preferred racing era)- are these wheels still available?
  19. Very nice built, Anders - with that spectacular glass-smooth finish we are used to see from you!
  20. Thanks, Chris ! Thank you David !
  21. Hi, Rich - here are some more pictures for you : OSI Alfa Romeo 1600 (Politoys 1/25): and then, I just have looked into ebay Italy - but those are rather expensive with shipping and customs/taxes, but I found also 2 sellers in the States: Look here (unfortunately cylinder head and wheel inserts left front and spare wheel are missing): https://www.ebay.it/itm/194141439882?hash=item2d33bb478a:g:XBUAAOSwZ4lgpXtz and the other - better - one: https://www.ebay.it/itm/164738660522?hash=item265b3078aa:g:WDsAAOSwfkNfLyYb it has even the often missing windshield wiper!
  22. Thank you, Josh - then I'm not alone - this is what I answered in Feb. to another modeler about the issues with this kit: I spray-painted (rattle-can) body, hood, fenders and firewall at once, but glued them together almost 20 years later in final assembly: Here I first glued the firewall to the floor, a few weeks later after assembling the interior, I glued the front edge of the body to the firewall, pushing the body forward as far as possible (I was even afraid that the body would break) - then I pushed the front fenders as far back as I could and glued them with super-glue. If you don't push the fenders back as far as possible, you won't be able to place the hood correctly - a huge gap will remain (on a German modeling board a guy even wrote that he had to lengthen the hood with about 1,5 mm plastic sheet to close the gap in front of the windshield) and the brackets for the bumpers will not stick out enough so you may become troubles with mounting the bumpers (front and rear). The hood hinges were a pain in the a.. for me : they fell off several times when I tried to install the hood - so finally the hood is only lying on fenders and firewall and not fixed anyhow.
  23. Thank you for the compliments, Greg !
  24. Which one did you mean, Rich? This one?
  25. No, the Miura isn't an SV (this one is wider at the rear and doesn't have the"eyebrows" around the headlights, which you can clearly see in the photo)
