  1. Picked this up in trade from a fellow forum member. Like many of us back in the day he cut the rear wheel openings and installed larger tires. That along with the crazed body from the too hot paint made restoring the kit to stock a non-starter. After stripping you can see the crazing of the plastic. I cleaned up the rear wheel opening and began reshaping the fronts to begin the transition into a short track modified. I'm using the chassis from the MPC Super Stocker series. The top of the frame rails are molded open so I boxed them in. I'm building an asphalt in lieu of a dirt track car, so I won't be using the 180 headers. I cut out the bump up and installed a plate over the opening where the headers would enter the roll cage. Added a fender support bar as well. Early mock-up after a few coats of filler primer and some additional sanding. The hood comes from the AMT '74 Cuda snapper.
  2. I agree the Fujimi Porsche kits have some nice box art.
  3. The Revell GTO Mustang kits might provide the wheels. They have too much offset for a production base race car but could be narrowed.
  4. Not a Fox body expert but another kit choice might be the MPC '84 kit.
  5. If you don't want to scratch build one you can cut one off a trailer like I did here. This trailer is available in a few different kits. You might also look at the Revell Kurtis Midget kits which includes a smaller trailer.
  6. Clean honest car - I like it.
  7. Clever way to make the headers.
  8. Very nice Oscar.
  9. Thanks Gary, you posted some nice ones as well. Yea the 300SL is a special version of the AMT kit. It's supposed to include a cardboard background but the kit I bought doesn't have it. Standard Version:
  10. Very nice.
  11. Yep Michael's or Hobby Lobby has them. Usually around the jewelry/beading area.

  13. The kit just sold for $190+ on ebay.
  14. Very nice.
  15. I spent the day on a tall ship during a regatta many years ago. It was under mechanical power in lieu of sail Still great fun.
