  1. Sebring & Daytona were part of the FIA world Championship in '67. Therefore the FIA rules applied which required the suit case boxes and a spare tire/wheel be carried.
  2. The block is the 426 from the Revell Cuda. Still need to relocate the distributor to the rear and relocate the water outlet. The 340 heads come from a Revellogram Dodge Challenger. The air cleaner from a NASCAR Monte Carlo.
  3. Great project.
  4. This what I come up with doing a search for Gene Winfield Terra Thrusts.
  5. Xingu was kind enough to send me the (3) wheels he had. The wheels are rather small 15.6 mm outside diameter - that works out to approximately a 14" wheel. Digging through my tire box I found a single tire (Murphy's law strikes again) small enough for the rims. It is a Pirelli exactly like those in the old Revell '41 Willys only slightly smaller. Anyone know the kit source for this tire or have a spare? For the remaining single wheel I opened up the grease cap and installed a larger rim to produce a 15" wheel. Hope to have this wheel resin cast.
  6. Yea noticed that too. I don't have any information as to why though.
  7. What kit is this? Very cool.
  8. Toyota says proposals to make the next generation of LMP1 cars look more like high-performance road cars have generated "a lot of interest" among manufacturers in joining sportscar racing's top flight. Fading manufacturer interest in LMP1 has resulted in the rulemakers of the FIA World Endurance Championship, the FIA and the ACO, holding a series of meetings to come up with a new set of regulations for the 2020/21 season. A potential push to create cars similar in style to the GT Prototypes of the late 1990s has received positive initial feedback, with McLaren CEO Zak Brown indicating a "strong interest" in pursuing this direction. Toyota Motorsport GmbH president Hisatake Murata appeared to confirm during last month's WEC's end-of-season gala that the Japanese manufacturer will remain involved in the series next season, following on from hints that it is prepared to commit to sportscar racing long-term. Technical director Pascal Vasselon said that discussions centred on attracting more participants to join LMP1 were encouraging for the category's future. “Clearly the direction [of the rules] is towards GT-looking cars, something we feel is positive and it’s giving momentum to the category,” said Vasselon. “It’s true that with standard LMP1 cars, not visually identifiable, there were not many manufacturers interested. “When you start talking about sportscar-looking prototypes, then it seems there is a lot of interest. There is a positive momentum at the moment.” Asked if the proposals would mean cars bearing a stronger resemblance to road cars than the DPi formula used in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, he replied: “It’s a bit early, but the target would be yes, a bit closer. “This we need to go into detail, all these factors that make the car look like a GT or not.” Vasselon said that Toyota would be satisfied as long as it had one rival manufacturer in the top division, and believes that the presence of three or more manufacturers is possible. As well as Toyota, both McLaren and Porsche - despite its decision to quit LMP1 this season - are among the other manufacturers that have taken part in discussions about the 2020/21 rules. “From two [manufacturers] onwards [the new rules are] a success,” Vasselon added. “As soon as we have another [competitor], we already are happy. “At the moment it looks like it could be more than two. It’s easy to say at the moment ‘we are interested’, but there is clearly more momentum now than one month ago.”

    Very nice.
  10. Can't say I've ever seen this Palmer kit before.
  11. Those are killer wheels Casey, wish they were 1/25 scale.
  12. Yep that looks very close Mike. Of course they have to be in a rare and expensive kit!
  13. Thanks Stu looks like that is the correct brand of wheel. Anyone have a photo of the Johan wheel?
  14. Better photo.
  15. Anyone aware of the flat spoke front wheel being available in scale? Anyone know what brand wheel it is?
  16. Truck is nice Gary but the King Cobra is even better.
  17. After further contemplating the Johan trans-kit, the body has the grille cast in place. It would require the builder to grind out the existing grille and fit the resin replacement. I don't think a sufficient number of builders will be willing to take this on to make a trans-kit viable.
  18. Very nice Charlie. Everything is very nicely organized and finished. May I ask what silver paint you use? It doesn't appear to have any grain to it.
  19. Stunning build Jason - well done!
  20. I like it Daniel. What chassis did you use?
  21. Coming along nicely Ron. You probably already know this ( I see you are planning on installing a C-6) but I asked about the correlation with tall injectors and auto trans and here are the responses I received.
