  1. I did these turn signals with orange Sharpie (two coats) applied to the exposed surface. I would think a yellow Sharpie would work for your lenses. Test it on some clear sprue and see. One coat may be enough.
  2. Boreham installed dual calipers on the rear. One for the hand brake and one for the foot (pedal) brake. The driver would use the hand brake to put the car into a slide entering a turn then control the slide with the throttle. This allowed him to maintain speed and RPM through the corner. The kit does not provide for this detail so I cut a set of calipers from a glue bomb of this kit I purchased.
  3. Got this idea from another forum site. Cut the head off a straight pin and install it in a mechanical pencil. Makes a great scribe for very intricate work.
  4. Where did you find them? I really like FlexiFile's "Touch-N-Flow" applicator which is a very similar concept.
  5. Thanks Randy & Robert Here are the fabricated and installed Panhard bar brackets both on the chassis and the axle.
  6. Very nice and very purple! If I can make a suggestion; if your are going to go to the trouble of paint detailing the chassis make the effort to clean up the parts as well by removing the molding seams, ejector pin marks, part numbers etc. This will lift the overall level of your build and takes no special skills just a little more time to perform. Keep building!
  7. Nice work Raoul. I am anxious to see how you straighten the bent A pillar.
  8. Very nice, love the rear wheel/tires.
  9. Nice save Pat. I have this kit in the stash. Definitely want to build it one of these days.
  10. Are you building replica stock? I kit based an original NASCAR version of the Cyclone with a Polar Lights Torino stock car chassis. Turned out well if I must say so.
  11. Tim, based on the photos I think your builds will fit right in. Come to meeting and you'll see. You don't have to bring a model just come check it out. And I will shut-up now and just watch your build. JC
  12. My fall back plan if I can't find a set of tarmac wheels/tires I am happy with is to model it with gravel tires. These are resin copies of the set that comes in Hasegawa's Nissan Bluebird Safari kit.
  13. Deeper radius rod channels Roll cage
  14. Here is a link to pictures from yesterday's meeting.
  15. Cool project. That looks like the 1/24 scale 289 from Revell/Monogram's '66 Shelby. I love that engine but am AMT 1/25 scale 289 might be an easier fit. Either way killer start.
  16. Thanks Shay. If width where the only issues I could fix them but they are the wrong style and diameter. The kit wheels scale out to 16". They need to look like this. Unfortunately they look like this.
  17. That's one badass Escort Shay and dude can drive! Wish I could find a set of those killer 13" Minilites for this build.
  18. Maryland Automotive Modelers Association (MAMA). It's a great club. I am proud member. No dues, no club contests, just lots of great builders sharing ideas and checking out each other builds. Plus we have two of the best resin casters in the business in our membership (Replica & Miniatures of MD and Historic Racing MIniatures) Just had our December meeting today. You should check us out. The link is below in my signature. Nice work on the build by the way.
  19. I'll admit I have not been moved to purchase a Moebius kit - yet. The reason is base solely on subject matter. Cars of the 50's are not my particular interests. However from the photos I have seen of the Chrysler 300 and Hudson Hornet the kit quality appears to be excellent. The engines alone are worth the price of admission IMHO. I am anxiously awaiting The '65 Comet and the '71 Ford Ranger pickup and will certainly be buying these kits. Thank you Dave for putting out kits of far over due subjects. And thank you for sharing all the "sausage making" that goes into bringing a kit to market. Keep up the great work!
  20. Wheels are nice. I built the Texaco Eggenberger car a few years ago. I have the XR4Ti in the stash. Both great Tamiya kits.
  21. As first revealed by Sportscar365 in July, Ford will return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans with an all-new GT car in 2016, as part of a factory program that will also include a two-car GT Le Mans class effort in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship. While Ford has yet to make a formal announcement, Autoweek has confirmed further details on the program, including the scheduled unveil of the yet-to-be-named production car for January’s North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Multiple industry sources have also confirmed that Chip Ganassi Racing has been tabbed to operate the program, with Scott Pruett and newly signed driver Joey Hand likely to lead the Blue Oval’s lineup. Sportscar365 understands up to two additional American drivers have also already been signed for the program. The car, said to be developed and built by longtime partner Multimatic, is understood to utilize an EcoBoost V6 engine. It would mark a departure from Ford’s signature normally aspirated V8 engines used in previous generations of the mid-engined sports car. The planned 2016 effort will mark Ford’s return to factory competition at Le Mans on the 50th anniversary of its first overall win in the twice-around-the-clock French endurance classic. Ford will be represented in the TUDOR Championship next year with a solo Riley DP entry from Ganassi, which is expected to conclude at the end of 2015 in order for resources to be focused on the new GTE project. No word has been given on when Ford will officially announce the program, although it could come as early as next month in Detroit. Be sure to visit Sportscar365.com for more sports car racing news
