How big is your work table ?
pa3de8 replied to Fender's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I started out working on a small TV tray table. Sometimes I still do that if I am watching a race, game or movie. I even sometimes sit on the floor and do it on the coffee table in the living room. I usually use the desk in our office/library area. Someday when the kids are gone, one of their rooms will be my work room. Until then, it'll have to be where ever I plop down and do it...lol. -
Chevy '55 Nomad AMT 1/24 with diorama shell station
pa3de8 replied to Tukkerdax's topic in Model Cars
Absolutely fantastic diorama. The building and the Nomad look very realistic. Great work! -
After three trips to two Michaels (3 - 50 % off coupons) and one trip to AC Moore (1 - 40% off coupon), here is what I came home with today: Revel's '70 Dodge Challenger T/A Revel's '69 Dodge Charger R/T Revel's '71 Plymouth HEMI Cuda Monogram's '57 Chevy Nomad A great deal considering it was $45.00 and would have been just short of $100.00 for the four of them without the coupons. I understand that this isn't exciting for some, lol. But I've been out of the hobby so long that this excites me!!! Now I have a bit of small stock pile.

Start saving your pennies!
pa3de8 replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It's amazing what someone puts a hefty price on. I don't think the price fits, but hey just my opinion. I would rather restore my own. -
I don't know but that sure is a purrty color, ...lol. All kidding aside, I've only used that stuff once and that didn't happen.

'32 ford bare metal >light weight speedhole roadster > the rough rod
pa3de8 replied to crazyrichard's topic in Model Cars
Very nice! Love the garage diorama. -
Wowee... That looks sharp. I was always on the fence about the new Camaro until I actually got a good close up of one in this green paint. I kinda like it now. The big 3 need to bring back more of that retro look with the sleeker lines. Look how well it panned out for Dodge/Chrysler. Again great build! Nice color choice.

Looks sharp! I built the Monogram 1/24 kit of that many moons ago! -

Good Morning, I remember this car fondly because it was the second car I owned. Was '73 Laguna with round tail lights. -
I remember building that one many moons ago, as well as the Mello Yello Pontiac as well.

Attack of the floor monster AGAIN!
pa3de8 replied to mnwildpunk's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
LOL, I will try and watch out for the monster. -
Made one of the magazines today

Love the photo with the snow and the trolleys. Big railroad fan here too. If I had a big house or garage with a loft I'd have a layout running in HO scale and a corner section for building models! Ahhhh, my dream home. -
Attack of the floor monster AGAIN!
pa3de8 replied to mnwildpunk's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
LOL... Luckily for me I haven't had the floor monster get me. I do work on my stuff kinda close to the floor and it is carpeted. I don't have a room with a bench or desk that I work on so maybe that's why since I work sitting on the floor in the family room using the the coffee table it hasn't happened. -
Someone is a big Pete fan. Nice builds!

I am from the Raleigh area.

Awesome build! Always partial to all the Batmobiles, especially the very first one...

They certainly aren't Revell or AMT kits that I have built because I have never seen one of those kits have a separated trans and engine component.

Excellent ride! Well done. Ernie and Dale were good friends. Nice build... Always liked Ernie's Kodak cars. -
Rich & Mike, The reason I ask is because I am not sure who is still in business, or the names of the places I dealt with in the past as I have been out of the hobby for a long time. I figured who better to ask then the guys who do this everyday and get their opinions. Scale Equipment Ltd is exactly who I was thinking of BTW. I just couldn't get the name right. Google certainly wasn't any help either...lol. Thanks again fellas!

By experience, who is the best aftermarket supplier. I am thinking along the lines of like diorama and detail parts. I've always wanted to build a garage diorama, a used car lot diorama, or a junk diorama. There was a company I thought was called Scale Ltd., but I am not able to find it. They had figures and office equipment for super detailing. Any information would be helpful.

Did that kit come with a separate trans and engine? I've never seen a model that came that way. I like it though! Looking really good so far Mike!
