  1. on most Saturday mornings you can find me prowling around flea markets and yard sales looking for junk.. one of the things i collect are old die cast cars. matchbox, corgi, tootsie, bar clay and london... mostly form the early 50's to 70's... since i started modeling i'm now on the look out for anything related to this hobby as well... paint, kits .etc etc... once in awhile i find something really neat... last weekend i happen to spot this and could not pass it up .thought some of you might get a kick out of it i think its from the 60's or early 70's but i'm not sure.. oak tongue and groove case filled with modeling tools.
  2. really nice.//i just picked up weird ohs freddy flame out....took it out of the box last night.. hope mine comes close to looking as good as yours

  4. Thanks gentlemen. i really appreciate the kind words... it took me about 4 months to complete....sorry Gator for bringing up not so good memories. thanks for your service
  5. love this....my first car was a 76 malibu.. same color as this one
  6. wow...great job
  7. i may try to cut a new one out of thin plastic and replace the one in the kit... really only one edge can be glued on my kit..hope you have better luck with yours..thanks.. i like the color so much i'm not going to add the decal flames or stripes. the body is small and i don't want to hide the paint.
  8. did you notice any excessive flash on the chrome pieces or have problems with the windshield?
  9. really well build...outstanding
  10. i picked up weird- ohs freddy flame out.... just because i loved this build so much, figured i would try my hand at one..thanks for the inspiration
  11. beautifully done...did i miss it... but which kit is it?
  12. here is my next build, #2 for this year. i was hoping to have it completed by the end of last month but ran into problems. biggest one was having it knocked off the desk and shattering the whole front end ... i came close to calling it quits and actually wrapped it up in paper towels and put it back in the box. but after a day i took it back out and figured i would try and salvage the build , try to repair the damage. i had to pull the front end apart and drill out the broken posts and glue in new ones then . it came out looking better than i thought it would. this was not an enjoyable build... the chrome ,and there was a lot of it all had flashing and just to many attachment points to the sprue. Why i have no idea. some of the smaller pieces had 3 and 4 attachment points. the windshield is to small for the frame. the paint came out pretty good so i fought my way to this point. i still need to add some decals and a few more small pieces then its on to the next build.... thanks for taking the time to look and any and all comments are welcome
  13. i needed this..thanks
  14. love it
  15. looks like a fun build..very nicely done
  16. i used embossing powder on my last 3 builds....red, beige , black. the first 2 i used matching colored embossing powder.the last one ,still in the build stage, i used white embossing powder and painted it with thinned down flat black paint..to me it looks more like asphalt than carpet. instead of looking like carpet material the beads all matted down and not carpet like at all. i figured i would purchase white powder and paint it to match my needs.... from now on i'm going to use the matching color in embossing powder and stop painting it. i'll point it out when i post my next build photos and you;ll see what i mean
