Thats what im doing. A felony stop, with a marked b/w Although not SAFD. I was thinking LAPD. on a Monte Carlo SS black car thing...it looks gangsta to me after watching End of Watch :-)

cool info ta. I found some images with the pair of 2 yellow/blue lights but most were only 1 pair on the left. I thought i would go for the pair just to be different :-) The spot lights were chrome but i painted them, i had seen both, and some cars with one of each i guess due to a replaced one. Useful info. Wish i had known before did it. I had spent a couple of weeks looking for pics and info online. ta. i hadnt seen any photos with them.

From what i found out, detectives only have a single front red light, infront of the rear view mirror, while traffic cars have red/blue flashing ones. Being in the UK i dont know much about the LASD, although i did like the 10-8 Officer on patrol tv show, that got cancelled 10 years ago. I had read on Wiki what i could so know the basics Just info would be cool to know. For future builds etc . Anything you can point out that will help

thanks, any tips would be cool to know. I couldnt find any early CV images they used, only the later one but no kit is done of that, hence i have done the Lindberg one.

i used that Flikr thing to look for images only for LASD cars.

Calling it done, apart from a couple of tiny touch ups around the tinted black windscreen areas. The figure will be repainted by me. Really enjoyed it, im also doing at present a CV in Met Blue for LAPD, to go along side a marked unit for a felony stop. Wish there was a quicker way to put pic up, this photobucket thing is BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH slow and tedious. I take pics of every step i go. So lots more pics (well theres about 20 at the mo.) but i can transfer from the very start to photobucket album if people want to see them. Totally different to military modelling. Had to think of new ways to do things and other problems i have never run into before.

yeah i have those, i did try it with a new blade, but i couldnt get it to keep onine using a Xacto then i could with a razor blade. I have been using a black Sharpie for the black trim around windows etc, and to use for blacken the areas around the rim of the window areas on the clear parts. Orderd some chrome silver Sharpies, to see if they are any good for doing the chrome areas also. ta for the reply, much app

im struggling with it, on cars its totally new to me. i put the BMF on say the area on a Lindberg Crown Vic, front rear bumpers, i use a cotton bud and tooth pick, to push down and show me where to cut, which i do with a new razor blade. I can sort of do that ok, slow and not too good Im struggling with curved areas, and along door edges etc just wondered if you do it in shorter lenths. I would love to use a silver pen, but cant find any, although not looked on ebay yet. I use a black Sharpie for thin detail on the body, rather than paint it. thanks

ta, yeah heard that. he has a couple of things i want, need to save up for. like the Chevy Caprice wagon. trouble is his website is great if you know your stuff, for me nope. Im sure there are lots of useful things for me, but without even a pic i cant compare to real images, which is what i have to do for most things

Im having trouble with photbucket, just stuck up a load of cop Crown Vics with Flikr, im only just getting used to that. Im only just getting used to doing vehicles, its totally different to military planes, tanks etc. not sure how to get a image link, cos when i try it says format or something not allowed. https://www.flickr.com/photos/124764964@N06/sets/72157645448794009/

nice. i bought this kit many years ago, from the US JUST for the rear lights. I know the kit again was recently reissued and the lights also are on the new Charger kit

A NYC corrections officer and asked if i could make him a bus he drives, i know of the 32nd scale Japenese buses, and the monogram drag bus. I cant find anything better but is there a resin coversion? Hes off work this week, and will then send me real pics but he said its the same sort size as a big school bus. If its a big square type thing maybe i can convert a truck using the front, part of the chassis, wheels/tyres etc Not sure yet. I googled some pics of what it could be and it does look a interesting build! I put up on a NYPD FB fan page of the NYPD Charger im doing, and a FDNY guy has asked me to do him a Charger, as he hates the Impala he has to drive, so im doing that with the Lindberg Charger now. Any of you guys know of a base kit, or after market resin items that would help? thanks guys

wow, i cant believe its well over a year since i posted the above comments. I did manage to get 5 shipped over, all Illonis ones. Completed one, and using a second kit as a test bed for scratch built items im making. Would love another 5 or 10 even if i can in the future, end of the year as i really do like the kits (apart from the too flat wheels)
