  1. This is number twelve on my list of 72 Torinos that raced Nascar. I’m trying to do them all. Have at least 7 more to do. This will be Dick Brooks Michigan August 1972. I do believe this car still had the 429 CJ engine in it rather than the boss 9.so far fuel filler is moved frt wells opened and flared appropriately handles and marker lights filled. TBird chassis has been stretched and 429 CJ is being mocked up. The engine came from the kit I stole the body from to do my Pearson Riverside Torino.
  2. It’s r4 then. In my color book it was called “Charger Red”
  3. The last couple cars I’ve done Speedway did the decals for me a while back. I have decals waiting for me all the time. I probably got 35 sheets in waiting.
  4. Some of these cars have been in the works so to say for years. Seriously. Six years to find a good enough picture of this car to do the mural on the sail panel.
  5. Look at any given time there was only a handful of superstars like Pearson Petty and Yarborough. The rest of the field that those guys had to beat was these guys like Ritchie and the other guys cars I build . These guys were the heart and soul of the sport. It’s a lot more challenging to build these cars. The research is hard. But I love the search for pictures and info. The best part of the obscure cars is they usuayhad cooler paintwork than the big guys. They didn’t have a giant sponsor dictating how they want the car to look.
  6. I kinda like it once you get used to it.
  7. MPC Torino on an AMT TBird chassis. With Polar Lights wheels. Just a quickie build using kit decals.
  8. Johan body resin hood custom decals. Sitting on a stretched TBird chassis with the Johan rims on AMT tires. Polar Lights 427 Tunnel port engine.
  9. Hemi the gas tank looks real nice. Paint the straps semi gloss black will top it off. Also the top of the console should be woodgrain.
  10. Another evening or two and this will be done.
  11. Rear steer all the way in the seventies with the exception of Bobby Allison built cars. They had short arm 3 link rear suspension too. The Laughlin chassis came out in the early eighties. Beyond that my knowledge is nill. Once the G Body cars went away so did my interest in the sport.
  12. GM stuff is front steer. Engine cage is way different too
  13. To be honest I don’t think the 72 ever won a race. Baker won in a 73.
  14. Another in my long list of Torinos. I’m trying to build all the paint schemes run on the 72 Gran Torino Sport Body. I have 11 painted and 8 more to do.
  15. Those are the best so far. Those flat Holman Moody headers would be awesome to have in scale.
