  1. It's weird, under this light in the basement the color looks more pinkish. Then out in the sun, boom! RED!
  2. Another great trader, cooltoys1 (Jay) was completed today. Highly recommended!
  3. Thanks guys for all the comments! I added interior color and carpet this weekend during the down time of BBQs, graduation parties, weddings, and working on the yard in back.
  4. As far as I know it did, was told he blew up the engine and the car was junked after. Kid was dumb as a box of rocks. What dose he do now? Flies planes......... In 1998 I was voted for having the biggest cars, 1st, 2nd and 3rd. 1978 Thunderbird, 1976 Cadillac Fleetwood and 1975 Lincoln Mark in HS. Lot of the parking lot was filled with Escorts, Grand Ams and sprinkled with BMWs, Volvos and a few other high end cars.
  5. My hole in the wall builders area. I honestly have no idea what the dimensions are, we moved into a single story ranch 1950s home, this '70s style bar set up and the garage is where I mostly spend my time.
  6. I have only been on MCM forums for a short time and put a few kits up for trade to see what would happen. I gota say it has been a good experience, I got what I like and the other guy got what he liked. Rather than sitting on my shelf or having the pains of dealing with Ebay, going this route made better sense for everyone. Also showed me there are really good people out there and for the bulk really good people on this forum.
  7. Great looking dioramas! Nice way to promote the hobby to.
  8. Other than what people have already stated, this kit is going together pretty well. It is helping me bounce over my "builders block".
  9. Back in 2003 when I started college, I only used Ebay. I did SO much turn around there, I paid for my semesters books. I was in Laramie, Wyoming and then trans back to IL, Macomb. Both towns are middle of nowhere and hours drive from big enough towns to even have a hobby shop. But Ebay went whacky in the mid '00s and I stopped, never bought a single thing from then again. Now I get kits from LHS, online stores, swap meets (when I can make one) and now trading (via on here). I would rather trade with someone than go though all that Ebay garbage of selling, S/H, insurance, emails, bla bla bla.......
  10. It's kinda like a pug dog, so ugly but they are cute in a way. I remember as a little guy in the '80s my non kid friendly neighbors had a ton of these in good shape, orange, light blue and green come to mind. I have a '76 wagon kit I will be building as "Oh God" the one John Denver drove in red with the wood panels and a '76 sealed annual that I have yet to touch but I will be picking up a few of these. These will be right at home between my Country Squire, Cadillac Coupe Deville and Chevy Caprice.......
  11. I started with my '75 but had fitting issues with the front header panel, then stopped there. Looks like you kicked butt and made this into a nice clean example, love it!
  12. I am doing my '90 Mustang in the same color. It really is a eye catching color, looks right at home on the Buick.
  13. Might release a monster huh Ed? HA HA HA!
  14. Walters always made some good stuff. I wish I could get the '30s/'40s car dealer ship building in 1/24th.
  15. I think I will be running to the Dollar General tomorrow and pick up some foil. There are a few car bodies I can experiment on. What kind of glue would you recommend Harry?
  16. Last few cars I have built have been resin and rebuilders. It is a nice break to just pop a kit out of the box and really have no fuss over anything. But I looked at another thread and it was pointed out there was no bottom molding between the wheel wells. Oh well, so far it has been a nice kit to take a breather with.
  17. Such a nicely lined car, that fastback roof with that long quarter panel works so perfectly together. That blue is very fitting to that Impala.
  18. I remember these Mustangs and the other camp, the Camaro and Firebirds from the same era in HS during the mid '90s. I had my 1978 Ford Thunderbird at the time, I was so proud I waxed flat paint on the big Bird. But a lot of kids in my HS had parents that bought them fairly new cars and I still remember clear as day this LX notchback a football player rolled up in. It was the only time a geek like me talked to a BMOC like him. The Mustang came from a Ford executive in Dearborn (I saw the paper work) ordered in this color with red cloth, 5.0 liter, manual trans, Pony wheels, etc. Clean was an understatement. With in a short time all the years of being cared for vanished, the new teenage owner beating the poo out of the ol gal. I still remember how that sun light bounced off the paint work and that sound......... I have been waiting around 20 years to build a replica of what I saw that day, still have the All American Models LX notch. I am just fine with the kits issues. Just maybe I will change them in another kit but for now this kit is allowing me to go back to a time into my teenage years to some of the moments that were good. This is just the start, four coats of Duplicolor and four coats of clear from Testors lacquer system. Then will be wet sanded and polished to a mirror shine. The wheels are the Pony wheels off the '93 Monogram drop top kit. I have no idea if they will fit right but with some careful nudging I will get them to fit. Now if I can only find a 1978 Thunderbird I can make into a blue/silver Diamond Jubilee Edition like mine to park next to this pony.
  19. I had the same issue in college, around 2006. I got the same response as you did Harry. A month or so ago I tried again and got the same response as Jason did. Yes their customer support has done a 180 deg turn around, they even sent me an extra sheet.
  20. I am all levels of excited for this kit. I would LOVE to get a few copies of that sport wheel cover option for other big Ford cars I have waiting on que. The '67 to '79 Ford truck ear is a HUGE market for so many niches, mine being replica stock. Now if we can get the little and big Broncos from '66 to '79.......
  21. Dang it! I bought the "Vantacy" kit to do a open window stock van but I am still a bit weary on cutting plastic just yet. Guess I am gona have to dive right in!
  22. I have ONLY seen this from the box, never one on one. Looks like at one time these vans had open windows in the back passenger area. I wonder if this one will have that. I would like to build a factory stock open window van. http://round2models.com/models/amt/chevy-rescue-van
  23. I had a triple black '79 and a triple gray '79. Wish these were available in kit form along with the Mark series.
  24. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! I would have NEVER thought it would look that good going on what guys said alone. Anyone has names of brands of this cheap store foil, the glues and how it's done?
