  1. These ol gals in silver look so commanding and stately.
  2. Thank you everyone for the kind words. The Olds was a $3.00 find at a swap meet and was a test mule for trying Duplicolor paint on kits. As you can see I am happy with the result. The rear view mirrors were from AMTs 1976 Ford/Mazda small pick up.
  3. Thank you. I try to get as close to what was around in that era. I have always liked that silver and red color combo, my '75 Mark was the same as my Caprice model.
  4. I'm green with envy. Beautiful!
  5. AWESOME!
  6. I have used rattle cans since I started this hobby when I was a little kid. I have a compressor that my folks bought me when I was a teenager but never had the room/time to set up a proper paint booth. In time I will do air brushing due to the fact you can custom colors to what you want. Rattle cans kept me in the hobby when I was in college and just now discovered I can use 1:1 Dupilcolor automotive spray paint. For my '76 Caprice I used the two part system from Testors, two coats of primer, three or four color and three or four coats of clear then wet sanded and a final hand rub out. And the '72 Ford Custom was done in the same fashion.
  7. I still need some photo etch scripts for the fender and trunk lip for the Cutlass name plate but other than that shes done!
  8. That blue looks perfect on her. I have the same kit, just have not decided what color to go with.
  9. Clean example. Well done!
  10. Love the wire wheels, all together looks simply awesome!
  11. Perfect color combination!
  12. I had bought some 1:1 parts for my '78 LTD (in my avatar) a few years back. Nice guy, very knowledgeable in FoMoCo stuff, more of a walking encyclopedia. When I was at his house I got to see his operation, indeed he is a one man show doing this on the side. I had seen only the grills for the Ford trucks and cabs, nice stuff. He was trying to figure out at the time how to buy RTV by bulk and how expensive it gets. Sadly I lost contact with him and have not talked/seen him since. The '78 LTD Landau was JUST being started by him, have yet to see one first hand.
  13. Don Holthaus runs one heck of a program there. His stuff is about the best you can get.
  14. Man, you did wonders on this kit! Love it!
  15. I have seen a fair amount of Aussie and NZ films that had some really good looking cars I have never seen before. When I go to look for them, sadly no a whole heck of a lot of them are available in model 1/24th or 1/25th scale form. Simply stated you are a true definition of a modeler. No one makes it, took the dive and are making your own from scratch. This has got to be one of the neatest threads I have seen in a long time. It is giving me the gentle bumps to make my own model of the car I am sitting on in my avatar, a 1978 Ford LTD Country Squire wagon.
  16. I have plans for another '76 in that color combination I originally had. I kinda miss that one in my collection.
  17. I have always liked this kit. I am juuuuuust about 100% finished with my own. Lookin good man!
  18. Sold a TON of kits, parts and promos I was never going to build or use in the last few months. But I had a growing list of stuff I wanted from The Modelhaus since I was in college. So I figured, now or never and dove right in. 1.) 1972 Ford Galaxie (Already built one, loved it and bought another) 2.) 1973 Chevy Kingswood (I have a '74 Caprice front clip to be swapped over). 3.) 1973 Buick Rivera 4.) 1976 Cadillac Coupe Deville 5.) 1974 Chevy Impala 6.) 1985 Chevy Impala Got some white wall tires, woodgrain decals, '72 Impala promo wheels, front bumper/grill (non SS) and hood for my '67 Chevy Impala. Also a replacement bumper for my '73 Caprice promo but was sent the front. I emailed Don yesterday about that and a few minor things. But over all Modelhaus quality is up there as always!
  19. Beautiful!
  20. Simply AWESOME! I bought the '69 Dodge from Revell years ago to start the same project but I don't have the skills nowhere close to yours to convert it. I have always loved this movie. Even have the soundtrack on my iPod!
