  1. I have had three sheets of it including a fourth sent by BMF and not had any luck with it. I ended up using it for chroming the trim in the little bits in my 1:1 LTD and lightly coated it with semi gloss lacquer. It's held up for 8 years pretty well.
  2. LOL, I was afraid someone would say that. I found my Town And Country wagon out of all the places, the small IL town I went to college at when I came for an alum meeting. Guess I will have to bite the bullet to add one of these '80s ecno cars I remember seeing all over as a kid.
  3. Traded with Mike (mikemodeler), item as described and fast shipping. Would do it again in a heart beat.
  4. It's funny how trends come and go. I have always been a longroof fan even before it was "cool". As of the last couple of years my wagons have become popular with people. Most shows around here have endless rows of muscle cars. I LOVE them as much as any guy dose but when I pull in my wagons, people stop what they are doing, come over, look and start going back to their youth. Mind you my '78 Country Squire is all original from paint work to the 8 track inside with 252k original miles clocked on. My two door 1976 Monte Carlo in black pulls in all ages and backrounds of people to stop and look at the coupe. People always want to talk about it. No matter the doors, people have all different reasoning's for the love and appreciation for cars in general. Letting that four door rot away is a shame, once it is gone it will only be remembered in the pages of history and the people that once owned them.
  5. I had the same Lincoln but a 1975 year model, even the same color combination as this one. I traded in my '78 Thunderbird for this 36k original mile clean example when I was 18. Another I should not have gotten rid of it.
  6. I have a few cars I started as a kid and never finished due to the lack of my abilities at the time. I popped open a '70s Range Rover I bought when I was 13 or so, painted it, looked like poop and then put in back into the box. 20 years later I stripped it, now I can not decide what color to paint it. You guessed it, it went back into the box.
  7. Where is everyone finding these and the Horizons? I have yet to see one on one here in the NW burbs of Chicago.
  8. Why am I expecting Farrah Fawcett to be leaning against it? LOL! Great to see some of the ignored '70s cars coming around.
  9. Sorry to hear about the Monte Carlo. Looked like one heck of a great car.
  10. I don't go out of my way for promos but when I find something of a deal or a resto piece I jump on it. I am still looking for late '70s Chevettes, ElCos, and a dark blue Monte Carlo from 1979 (my birth year). But the last few years people spiked the prices it seems like.
  11. Just traded with 2000-cvpi (Corey) for some kits, AWESOME! Came well packed and quickly!
  12. Thank you everyone for the kind comments. I loved building it. I built a dark green one when I was about 6-7 years old and it met it's fate with my childhood......
  13. Love that yellow. Mine has been waiting to be built for 12 or so years........
  14. Like seeing this project unfold. Gives me ideas and shows what a bit of ingenuity can do.
  15. This is really cool!!!!
  16. Nice!
  17. Perfect!
  18. Thank you everyone for the kind words!
  19. Sean: Thank you Niko: You are a God my friend. This is exactly the kinda stuff I have been looking for.
  20. Thank you guys for all the advice/tips. It is a nice metallic brown but still has that "cop car" feel as where I want a stock daily driven Impala color.
  21. Nice!
  22. I have only had luck once painting black and that was 20 years ago on a English taxi. Now I am building a replica of my '76 Monte Carlo and I have stopped due to not wanting to screw up the black. This might be the bump I need to continue. Looking awesome!
  23. Niko:I have a soft spot for the A-body from '73 to '77 since I own a '76 Monte Carlo and a '73 Century wagon. Charlie: Good eye! I try to put in all the little details I can from city/town stickers, parking stickers, dealer stickers, etc. I would like to start adding valve stems and black washing the doors, just have not figured out an easy way to do that.
  24. So I painted and cleared a '85 Impala from The Modelhaus. I like the color just not on that car the more I looked at it. What do you guys recommend stripping Duplicolor paint off Modelhaus resin? Thank you, Jon
