    Hummer

Ok painting it Blue and Black is not helping me I've got four of those things lost in my Storage Unit, and I have been trying not to buy new replacements Definately one of my Favorite Color Combos, So Nice Job Yeah son likes like a Cute Little Guy, but he is clearly giving you the "Are you going to pass that thing over so I can play already Dad???" look
  7. Yep Amt and Several other Manufacturers did the samething, as it was just much cheaper to tool a single style interior... Heck it used to be that you could buy a kit, that had pieces in it to build either a Hardtop or Convert.... Either you got a Hardtop Body, and you hacked the roof off to make a Vert, or you got a Vert Body, and one or two Hardtops to add to it (Think '65 GTO convert).... It wasn't till the late 80's or so, that I remember any manufacturer going with the "true" interior for that car....
  8. Speedy Recovery Wishes Here too!!! Best Wishes for a Modeling Brother as well!
  9. You could use Revell/Monogram's Grand National/Donk Regal V6 to give you a good starting point..... You know, I have never been able to understand why Diesel Pickups haven't been kitted as of yet.... It's Funny that Revell of Germany has done Diesel Uni-Mogs,Big Rigs,Etc, and Now TDI V10 Race Cars, so when are they going to do some pickups already????
  10. Fantastic Job on the Rallye Tuffone! Most of the Rallye wheels were aleady chrome in the kits, so what you could do, is spray the desired color, then just gently remove the excess colors when the paint dries.... I like to use a slightly damp toothpick tip, that way I'm less likely to burn through the chrome while rubbing....
  11. Pssst Dan, You still named part of the Big3 in your comparisson Bro... Good Luck trying to find one not affliated in some way with them
  12. WOW Great Job, Especially like how your Kustom '32 looks like it came off of another car, and the Body Sectioning with a Stock Height Roof Screams Ol' Skool.... ****Edit*** WHOA Is that a Chopped Down Forty Dash behing the Killer Plane Wheel??? NOICE!!!!!
  13. Well actually Chevy successfully converted a 4.3L Gas V6 into a Diesel V6, after Oldsmobile went rounds with their Diesel Converted Olds 350's.... Chevy had learned alot from Olds' mistakes, and was able to refine their Diesel Conversion attempts..... Oldsmobile was the only one to attempt a Diesel V8 Conversion, and the rest of the GM Brands had Olds Diesel Engines placed between their framerails..... Technically you could use any 1960's-1970's Oldsmobile V8 that was kitted, and visually convert it into a Diesel.....
  14. Yep, especially come Spring/Summetime, when a None Blended Gas is available(most Gas Companies will switch to a 10% Ethanol Blend during the Aug/Sept-Feb/Apr, as it helps to "Remove" Moisture from the gas supplies to keep it from Freezing.... What they don't tell you, is that it is done so that they can extend out their supplies in the General Winter Months, that way they will have more than enough supply when they up the Prices during Peak Vacation Travel Times ...
  15. Cause it's His, and Why Not Just like Why would anyone want to sign up for a Forum, only to pitch a fit about someone elses project??? Granted I would Love to have one of those kits myself, but atleast he is doing the kit proper Justice by building it (it's a Plastic Toy, Not a Comic Book or a Baseball card Btw, I'm enough of a Weirdo to use a Babe Ruth card for my Bike spokes ).....
  16. Really, wasn't aware of them being so rare.... I grew up with alot of my neighbors owning type III Notchbacks and fastbacks.... My father had a '68 Fastback when I was little, and that thing was durable to say the least( was still running strong only with 2 cylinders, when my Bro got it, and I have wanted another ever since)..... Very Nicely done Btw Low, that's how I prefer my Old Skool V-Dubs....
  17. From 1946-1968 **Edit** Great subjects and Job done so far Tom, I'm partial to both subjects(Kustom Kaddy-O's, & Merc trucks)...
  18. Actually refered to the rear of the '71-76 B-Body Cars looking like a wide Donkey's Rear(Earlier version of the meaning, was geared toward the Leaping Impala Badge looking like a Donkey Kicking, but was eventually used to describe the wide width of all B-Body Backends)...... Hence the reason why a Raised or Lowered '71-76 B-Body can be refered to as a Donk in the Southern/East Coast States, where as the Left Coast States usually called them "Glass Houses", as reference to their large window area surround. Generally the '91-96 B-Bodys are called Bubbles, to denote their round design styling..... BTW, Great Looking High Rolla Bubble RD
  19. Ooooooooo Now Dats a Deuce If I ever get a chance to build one, I have always wanted one with a '40 Dash, so yours is the Perfect Style to me
  20. LOL Understandable Bob, I have quite a few of those moments myself NP with the Compliments Bro, Im a sucker for an Old Skool Rod, and that Barn Find T looks Good Profiling together with your Latest
  21. Wow Very Nice Kolor Combo to pull off a repair
  22. Sorry about that, it's actually a common mistake that I have seen on some model kits and kit instructions(Bit of a Hubcap Nerd at times)...... Hard to tell the Hood Ornament you used, but if you modfied the Old one in the before pic, thats a Motometer with a Winged Cap...... The cap was ofcourse for the Radiator, and the Motometer was a Thermometer that helped with regulating the Cool System Temps(An accurate at the time, way to monitor the system, since they were for before Waterpumps, and Dash Temp Guages).....
  23. Very Nicely Done I am eagerly wating to see if this one gets reissued... The Caps look a bit like Dodge Lancer Caps of the 1950's though, as Olds Fiesta Caps were typically a Tri-Bar/Flipper Design.....
  24. WOW Vern, Looks more realistic than some Full-size engines I have seen over the years :( The Aluminum on the water pump looks like an Aluminum High Volume Performance Pump, a part that could be purchased through the Dealership Parts Dept, or an Aftermarket Speed Parts Company(Summit,J C Whitney,Mooneyes,Clay Smith, and Etc)...
  25. Yep that style Opel Manta was Heavily influenced by the Monza's of the same time frame(They are Euro Cousins after all)....
