  1. Another great model, I love it! IMO it is even more attractive than its London counterpart. Did you consider a vignette similar to the one with the cable car? A section of cobbled street, street car rails and tram wire would be rather easy to make and would look great.
  2. Very interesting model, perfect execution! Even it was years ago I always liked your models in the Wettringer Forum.
  3. Perfect work on an interesting model! I love such peculiar and even educational topics. Ask people who built the first locomotive and 99 per cent of those who have any idea will answer: "Stevenson, of course!"
  4. Super clean, looks perfect!
  5. Excellent result
  6. Nice result, colour is spot-on!
  7. If this is your first resin cab we know what we can expect for the future. Excellent! Sadly the blazing sunlight on the first pictures casts deep shadows hiding a lot of details certainly worth to be seen.
  8. Thanks for the latest comments! My personal recipe is rather simple: Step 1: on any surface filling and sanding, filling and sanding, filling and sanding, ... Step 2: finally I drybrush critical areas with Revell or Humbrol chrome silver. This thin layer reveals all remaining surface flaws and can be removed with turpentine easily without attacking the surface. If I spot any flaws back to step 1! Step 3: Unless the colour of the plastic requires a prime coat I never use primer on styrene or ABS in order to keep my paintwork as thin as possible. I use primer on resin when I don't trust my surface preparation. I always use primer on metal surfaces for sufficient paint adhesion.
  9. Hi, my old instruction sheet says that this is a 1992 issue. As far as I remember the kit was a typical Monogram kit: Reasonable price, good fit, easy to build, and finally a realistic replica of the real car. I don't remember any issues. As a peculiarity the kit included a sheet of pre-cut chrome trim similar to BMF but too thick and too inflexible to be usuable.
  10. Thanks for the recent replies! This one is still one of my favourite models. Parents love their problem children most ...
  11. Neat as always and IMO the best-looking colour combination on a Cobra.
  12. Thanks for the recent replies and sorry for the delay!
  13. Completely convincing workhorse without any gimmickry. Your mirror brackets are a big improvement. It would be interesting to learn how you made them.
  14. Thanks for the recent replies! I am looking forward to your finished model. If you think any further information supplementing my post of 3 August would be useful please let me know.
  15. Very unusual idea, excellent execution!
  16. Thanks for your replies and thanks for the compliments!
  17. Hi, My old instruction sheet says that Tamiya released this 1/20 kit almost 20 years ago. Nevertheless I remember building both models quite well. When I buy a Tamiya kit I expect a top class kit, all the more as 20 years ago the German Tamiya sole importer kept prices very high. I can't say that I was completely disappointed. As usual fit, realism and instruction sheet were excellent. I was, however, disappointed by some simplifications that I didn't expect in a Tamiya kit e. g. the common pedal support was rather crude, the shift linkage (clearly visible on the real car) was missing completely, no ignition cables and brake hoses, the box-like mesh on top of the intake trumpets was replicated by a box of clear plastic - really anachronistic when PE parts had already become a feature of many kits. Really annoying were the poor surfaces of most chromed parts. Uneven and with conspicious seams I either replaced them by real metal or sanded and foiled them. All in all the kit required more effort than expected, but standing side by side with my 8 pairs of superdetailed 1/20 Casadio/Revival GP models this pair makes an interesting completion.
  18. Knowing your truck models I didn't expect here anything else but perfection - and I was right.
  19. Perfectly clean as always, excellent detailing of the chassis.
  20. Perfect, particularly the paintwork! If you should ever break your shaving mirror ...
  21. Even if the pictures are rather small - perfect! MFH kits are a class of their own.
  22. Thanks for the recent replies! Thomas, sorry for my late answer. The Revell decal is correct. It shows the most popular pin-up giveaway of the fifties, the famous Veedol skater. When you inspect your decal very closely you can even read "Veedol" on her dress. Originally the skater character was created in the very early fifties by a later very successful German advertising artist for a German skate manufacturer named Hudora. It is said that he was inspired by the beauty of "Miss Germany" of those days. Soon after he got the order to create an advertising character for Veedol of Germany. He reutilized his Hudora skater after a few modifications. Veedol used this skater for many purposes for (I believe) 20 years and modernized it continuously. When the skater was dropped neither the artist nor Veedol were able to explain why she had become so popular. These are some variations of the Veedol skater and some copies: BTW I didn't use the decal on my Büssing because IMO it detracted from the typical Büssing grille. In either case you will enjoy the kit, it is fantastic. Hopefully Harry won't give me warning points for posting sexist stuff .
