I would love to get my hands on that kit, but with so many kits in my stash already, i'd have to get rid of some of them to make room. You still looking for that Tamiya 1/35 ww1 British mk2 tank kit? -

Amen!! Are you going to get the new Revell AG 1/144 Flower class corvette when it released? Supposed to be next month, but we know that song by now... I may get one just for detail comparisons. -

That was my first thought too. Then I thought about torpedoes. If one could get under that blast door, it would certainly hit something. And with that much blast force contained inside the bunker. Better minds than mine have probably pondered that idea too. Maybe the harbor basin itself wasn't large enough to allow for a torpedo run? I seem to remember that departing and returning boats had to have harbor craft help "turn" the boats to exit or enter the bunkers . It may be nothing, but it could explain why they never attempted a torpedo attack. -

I have never seen an intact blast door up close. Did they extend all the way to the bottom of the bunker floor, or just afew feet under the water surface? The only blast doors i saw during my tours over there were removed and i the process of being cut up. -

I have the same idea, but in 1/144 scale. I'm not quite sure how to build the drydock section. I would LOVE to build a lift off roof with lighted interior and rooms. -

I'm a tech victim, unfortunately, and i have never understood or been able to post pictures of my builds here. I was stationed in Germany in the Army and did alot of exploring on Uncle Sams dime. I traveled to the French coast to see the D-Day beaches, and made a side trip to see the U-boat bunkers. That's been well over 20 years ago now, and IDK if the bunkers even still exist. The last i heard, the French government was filling in the basins and bunkers with fill. Its a part of their dark past that they would rather forget. I still have the photo's somewhere in storage. -

Yeah, mine is the IXC. I wonder if they'll pantograph these down to 1/144 scale like they did with the type VII's. I'd be in for 3-4 0f each for my bunker dio. I have the Gato too, but i did the late war tower cut down on it. Looks much better. -

Do you have the new type IX c-40? Not the one with the cut away deck casing, but the issue before it. -

I still have a Gunzi 1/350 Lusitania to build and am still deciding if if I want to attempt the P/E, or get rid of the kit. -

I built 2 of the mini hobby kits years ago on commission. They were really nice when done, but I don't think I could have survived the P/E sets too. Had they been available at the time, I have no doubt that the buyer would have wanted that too. P/E really adds to a kits overall looks, but my eyes and fingers just can't do what they used to. -

Your a glutten for punishment my friend!!! I built the Titanic awhile back, pre- PE days, and that kit nearly made me take up stamp collecting instead. -

Good find on the paints!! That's gotten to be the biggest expense of my builds. i'm currently building a 1/350 scale model of my screen avatar namesake, and just buying all the paint needed to build the ship in its pre-deployment colors is a real bear. I won't even get into the photo-etch. life was so much easier before i discovered that stuff... -
Beautiful car. I really like that lowered front stance. VERY nice build.

I feel for you guys up there. We had our coating of about 10.5 last week. I saw the radar for your area this A.M. and it still looks pretty bad.

I worked at the big "W" years ago, and some of the stunts pulled on the returns people had to be seen to be believed. Some of the scams really had a lot of forethought put into them. The loss prevention people were really scrambling to catch them all.

LOL!! yep Where's the "LIKE" button on this thing?

I would be ALL OVER one of those!!! Maybe the wait will be worth it? -
Ain't that the truth!!!! Ridiculous but completely true. We need to be careful about how things impact the environment , yes, but some of the NONSENSE they come up with is completely idiotic, and almost too cumbersome to effectively implement with by DESIGN. By the time all these different agencies are satisfied, the cost over runs on the impact studies have made the entire project too costly.

The prices will stay low till another refinery blows up, or another brush fire war breaks out in the middle east, or some OPEC official has a bad day and stubs his toe tripping over a lobbyist, then the prices will shoot through the roof.(again) Big oil won't tolerate this level of pain for long. They'll figure out a way to stick it to us again. And your 100% right about the buying bigger vehicles thing. Some people need bigger vehicles, but I got rid of mine when gas hit close to 4 bucks a gallon. Never again....
