  1. I used to build for the fun. I would get a kit and start in on it, not caring about accuracy. Then i discovered all kinds of reference materials, and the guys and gals on the forum, and aftermarket companies with all kinds of cool add on parts. and people who are willing to give advice. I got so caught up in trying to build the"perfect" model that i never finished anything. I need to get back to that time when building a kit was fun. I know it was my own fault i got caught up in the super detailing, and its a hard habit to cure, but modeling at the level that i've tried to maintain has started to lose its luster. I need to get back to that wide eyed wonder that used to drive my enjoyment of this hobby......
  2. Nice effect!! I'll have to remember that trick.
  3. Thats Cool!! How did you do the scales on the fenders?
  4. That is SWEET!! The lines of the car are complimented by the black paint, just the right amount of rake. Stock looking "sleeper". Are the rear rims the kit pieces? WOW!!!
  5. This is gonna look GOOOOOD!!!!!
  6. I think those older body styles of Gremlin looked better because they didn't have those huge billboard bumpers.
  7. I finally found the perfect shade of 70's green for my build. This thing is gonna SCREAM 70's.... lol
  8. I think the paint will polish out just fine. Love the color!
  9. I use that silicone rubber tubing Cut to your need diameter, make a small connector, and presto. Won't react with the tire over time either. I get mine from work, but you can pick this stuff up pretty cheap at any craft store.
  10. Quick question. We can use other wheel/ tire combo's but how about attachment methods for different wheels? I can make the kit supplied axles work, but I have to slice-n-dice the kit supplied rims.
  11. I hope they find out who did it and return the favor....
  12. I had a buddy stationed on a sub tender at Holly Loch, Scotland. He used to watch them get under way and count the seconds between the sail going by, till he saw the tail plane pass. He was Thunderstruck at just how BIG that sub was. I think all he had seen up to that point was fast attacks, no boomers.
  13. Man, I have GOT to get up to speed on this posting pics thing!!! You guys are already out in front.
  14. Good gravey man!!! You spent more time UNDER water than on it!!!! LOL!! You must have been there when they brought the Ohio class boomers on line. Thats about the right time frame.
  15. I wish i could post photo's, but i'm not that smart.can't seem to figure it out. i usually make a mess of it. Yep. its the Mk iv. Its a really cool kit. Being motorized, it doesn't take away trom the kit at all like the older Tamiya tanks. The price was abit steep, but i had to have it.
  16. Cool!! Thanks for the tips!!
  17. I thought that hood thing was just my kit. thanks for the heads up Ace.
  18. I just build their 1/35 WW1 tank. Yep. its a little gem. The snap fit track links fit together like a dream.
