  1. The wood deck was a huge upgrade. Nice!
  2. Thanks, I appreciate that. This evening I did a little more touch up, mainly on the rooftop awning fairing in front. Never-ending body work.
  3. This project continues to amaze me.
  4. I enjoyed following this one. Very unique.
  5. Nice build. I like that paint.
  6. True, I may use it for a finish of another build in the future. I’ve had very good luck with that primer.
  7. Thanks, I really like it in black, too.
  8. Thanks. For the Series 60, I added a basic amount plumbing and wiring, and it has been weathered with Tamiya panel accent, my first time using the stuff. What a great product for engines.
  9. Understandable. This one looks to be far and above better than the cheaper one I purchased. Maybe I should get one from P&P and get rid of the other one.
  10. I should have waited for this one. Much higher quality and detail than the one I picked up a little while back.
  11. Here’s a chassis comparison with a standard Italeri 378 build, another project I’m working on when I’m “waiting for the paint to dry” on the 379 RV. I don’t like having too many projects going on at one time, but having a couple builds readily available to work on is nice for when you’re waiting on parts, or for something to cure, or just waiting for inspiration to strike.
  12. Mock up time! Primer arrived today, so I was able to put on another coat. Mr. Hobby Mr. Surfacer 1500 Black. Great stuff. Looks pretty sinister in all satin black? (Maybe an idea for a future build?). Plenty of chrome, aluminum and stainless will be added along with a glossy black finish. Some final fitting and adjustment will be needed with the body, cab, hood, and chassis, but overall it fits together well.
  13. Thank you. I enjoyed that build. Sort of a test run for this current project. Learned a lot from it.
  14. Thanks! Glad you like it.
  15. What a great project. I enjoyed watching it come together. Unique, modern, and well-executed. It took a lot of planning and effort, but it was well worth it.
  16. You are an amazingly fine artist and craftsman in styrene. Incredible.
  17. Thanks for the great info. That clears up some confusion on my part. I had just measure the wheels from AMT’s T600 and they scale out to just about 22.5” in 1/25. I wasn’t planning on using the kit wheels, but I thought “how the heck do they call these 20” wheels? AMT was way off.” Now I know why and that AMT wasn’t in the wrong.
  18. Thanks! I’d have it all in primer today, but I ran out of it yesterday. Ordered more. I guess I’ll work on something else in the meantime. Isn’t that the way it goes?
  19. One thing I may have not mentioned yet is that some of the window openings are still a little rough. That’s ok, because the windows themselves are larger than the openings, and will mount flat to the surface surrounding the window, and cover up any minor imperfections in the window casing. The corrugated window shades are set inside to give the window some depth and provide for scale thickness of the RV sidewall. They are the newer “frameless” RV window design. From a modeling perspective, much easier to make than traditional framed RV windows. A bonus for us modeler guys. Here they are on another RV build of mine: I’ll also paint the exisiting window shades white or light grey before the windows are installed, so they are somewhat visible through the deep tinted windows.
  20. You should go for it. They’re impressive vehicles that are becoming more and more popular.
