  1. Nice work. After seeing the test shots of Round2 inventory tools, I am guessing they still have the 64 Impala convertible. Sean, you have already done the box art.
  2. I am also interested in odering details and what comes with the body. Thanks, Bob
  3. I think it captures the look of 1964
  4. Why did these early NASCAR guys route the exhaust pipes through the tail lights, or trunk of the cars?
  5. I forgot to meantion that the skirts are a nice addition too. I guess you had to scratch build them? I don't remember any resin offerings. Also, AMT made a convertible promo of this car but never a kit.
  6. Good job. The 70 Impalas are nicely styled cars and better as convertibles.
  7. How did you make the stick shift boot? The interior is a really nice job.
  8. Darlington on the Cape was there a little while back
  9. Felix, it is an outstanding job. Nice touch with those brake lines. You might be able to find or make a 250 decal for the front marker light. Most years the six emblem doesn't exist.
  10. I have never seen one kit absolutely correct and somebody will always find something wrong. Everybody should be happy that its not the late '60s or '70s when there were a lot of kits had problems that were unfixable. It's even worse in model railroding where some people are called rivet counters.
  11. Wow, that is pretty neat
  12. The 6 cylinder; do you mean the '63 Trumpeter kit? I looked for a italeri 64 Nova and couldn't find one. Very nice build
  13. It may be a humidity problem with the paint. I have that problem here in Massachusetts. Some lacquers evaporate so fast that water condenses. On the other hand, you may be able to polish it smooth. I have been using Krylon clear over the paint and it has been giving a shiny appearance. That is a nice color. I am sure it will look great when you are done.
  14. Dave, it came out of Illinois in a lot of models and a promo on Ebay. So, maybe it came from you. I had to re-work the body where the windshield broke and in the back. It was missing parts too so I got another kit. The convertible roof may be a '65 Impala as you say. It's got the correct slant that the '69 Galaxie and Marquis convertibles had.
  15. That really looks great now.
  16. Chris, was the trunk line on the 1964 and 1965 TBird kit wrong as well. I never paid attention to it.
  17. very nice build
  18. Bumpers, valences, grille, tail lights; all the items that are impossible to find
  19. Any replacement parts for AMT or MPC '74-77 Camaro kits?
  20. The Hardtop craftsman is a kit of the promo. The reissued kits with extra roof are pretty much original except no chassis screws. Not a bad kt
  21. Tangerine candy color is nice
  22. Ron, you are correct, the break in the shape line is hard to notice, particularly at the wrong angle. These windshields have a very complicated shape. I had no success rebuilding the kit hardtop windshield frame as you did. The frame has so many compound curves that I built it in two pieces. I would have liked a smoother V in the center, but that is how it turned out I first noticed this weird windshield angle while watching Twin Peaks. Thanks for reminding me that I should model the car in this show.Twin Peaks is a great show, and the guy driving this blue Caprice convertible is the lunatic murderer. These are imdb.com photos Here is another GM convertible windshield but it's a Pontiac. Some cruise night shot.
  23. Beautiful work
  24. I like red. Without Bare Metal Foil, the trim is a bit lost, but it is there. I practiced drilling out some head light. A 7/16" drill twisted by had can open the holes followed by an Xacto knife. Also opened the turn signal lights for a lighting kit that I have.
  25. This Mannix Cuda is not painted a standard Chrysler color. Beginning with the '68 Dodge Dart Desilu studios decided this British green color was best for filming the show. As a result, the Cudas following the Dart were painted the same color when Paramount owned the show. Not my choice of color to paint a nice Cuda, but this is what they looked like.
