  1. I think the Judge was the only version like that. Seems like the next issue was the Modern Classics with no custom or speed parts.
  2. The '65 Chevelle is definitely cooked. If they hadn't turned it into a stocker, maybe it could have even returned to stock as did the '65 GTO? It's ironic that the '65 GTO is worth more as an AMT Modified Stocker now.
  3. I just bought one of these kits to get brand new glass for 2 built up 2+2 Mustangs. Also cut the nose off to repair the head light sections of one 2+2 Mustang. The decals are very nice as are the blue line slicks.
  4. It is down the street from me 2 days out of the week. The photo is darker than it appears. I guess this is because of the late day light?
  5. Snake, I don't think there is anything wrong with the snap '74 rear. I thought the idea was to convert a Revell '70 into a '72-74, and then it would need the resin rear piece. Am I interpreting this correctly?
  6. Nice build. Those cars have been gone so long around here that we forget about them.
  7. The color and detailing is outstanding
  8. MrObsessive, your fotki is great. I have looked at it a few times myself in the past (if it is the same one?). Modelhaus won't post photos, but your link is good enough to answer questions about how the parts / kits look.
  9. Most of the frames from Modelhaus are promo type frames if you are doing motorless curbside. I know some of the bodies can be bought ala carte, meaning body only not a complete kit. But you probably need the whole lot of parts to finish.
  10. VRM, those 72 parts are an improvement
  11. When MPC turned the Cuda into a stock car, they removed the inside of the lip around the headlight that made the headlight appear sunken. It is on the '74 annual kit, but it's gone now.
  12. Tim, yes it is cool because I built a Rockford '76 Firebird years ago. I could have used those plates. But , now I know where it is.
  13. Sanke, what color is this GTO. It's a '71.
  14. Why is Rockford's license plate there?
  15. I accidently bought 2. Now I have a spare to fix the Cobra?
  16. Red '64 GTO is a good choice.
  17. Porscheman, it is interesting that you can't even get resin '69 Lincoln bumpers from Modelhaus. Otherwise, you could convert a 66-68 gluebomb to a '69. I like the big Lincolns too.
  18. I thought there was a small Ford 6 cylinder in the 1962 Falcon and Comet annual kits (chromed too?). Its's interesting that the hoods on those kits were molded shut.
  19. I know it may be hard to believe, bu the original annual '70 MPC Coronet kit didn't fit that great either. It was only okay. I built that one, the '70 Cyclone and the '70 Cougar. All of those kits had to be worked on the get the stance to look good. I remember the Cylone wheelbase didn't line up with the wheel openings and the Cougar had a funny raised front end. Predictability of fitting ended after AMT and MPC eliminated the screws holding the parts in place.
  20. So, if you wanted '50 Ford 4 door Woody, you had to buy the truck version?
  21. This is a good example how detailing can make a great model. Nice work.
  22. Nice restoration of both. I never got an original '69 Chevelle back then. I caught the Chevelle kit in 1977-8 when the Countdown kits came out and I opted for the convertible. During the dark days at AMT, a large amount of kits got the solid chrome replacement and elimination of the red lens between 1968 and 1977. Included with this Chevelle are; 1953 Studebaker, 1965 Galaxie, 1959 Mercury, 1963 Chevy II wagon, 1969 Corvair just to name a few. I think the modification of the '69 Chevelle tail lights are the worst of all of them. A simple solution is to buy Modelhaus replacements. Some of the '69 AMT kits could be built stock like the '69 Impala. Just the engine on this '69 Chevelle was non-stock, I thought? I believe the front marker light and the trim on the side of this Chevelle are incorrect, but again it can be fixed easily. Better to have these kits with some flaws, than not at all. I wish that I had saved more of my kits back in the '60s like you did. My '64 Impala with lights is the only one.
  23. Very nice detailing job
  24. Conversion to make a 72-74 out of a 1/25 Revell '70 Cuda? I am curious to see pictures posted of the parts you receive.
  25. I think all of the forementioned kits are okay. In reality, how well you build them, modify them and detail them will make a big difference on how the ultimately appear to the viewer. Not really productive calling anybody's product a POS.
