  1. What you need now is a BIG Corvette emblem on the grill to go with the flames! It's probably a good thing I wasn't there... I would'a killed myself eating that much food... Or at least burned my hands trying to get to it!
  2. The tires look too kit like... I'll say model.
  3. The color is awesome. What color did you use?
  4. I talked to John and he said they will be announcing some of the new 2010 releases at the ihobby show next month. So we will have to wait and see...
  5. There was one owned by Circus Circus, called Circus Circus Hobbies, but I don't think it's there anymore... And I think remember another one around 20th and Fremont street. Best thing to do would be to check Google or Yahoo search for "Las Vegas hobby shops.
  6. I can ask John Greczula about it... Anything specific you want to know about?
  7. Funny thing... I paid $2 more for the whole kit...
  8. Thanks anyway Lyn. I have those, they came with the kit, and I plan on using them. The wheel backs are molded in blue on the ones for sale, but my kit is molded in white. Thanks again!
  9. No, THANK YOU!!! The pictures are great, and those and the information you've given me will help me tremendously with the restoration. If you don't mind, may I PM you if I have a question? Your help in this endeavor is really appreciated!!! Thanks again!
  10. I thought that was Captain Chaos, the Super Cleaner... Thanks! I do have a new MPC kit to replace the kit parts though...
  11. A '63 model here... though not as good looking as a Corvette. Welcome to our sanctuary! Lyn, we keep you around because you're as twisted as the rest of us!
  12. No worries about laughter from me... I want one of those myself! That's cool it still includes the tri-wing Fokker! When you get a chance, post some pictures!
  13. Thanks Lyn! The kit # is T841. According to this article it was a rare kit back in 1998...
  14. I can't find a date on either the box or instructions... Thanks!
  15. Besides getting the Astrovette, I received this in the mail today... I had never seen this kit until I bought it off Evilbay. I can't find a date on either the box or the instruction sheet...
  16. Got the model in today! Checked it out and found some good news and some bad news... The good news is that whoever built it, didn't bother to scrape the plating or the paint when gluing the body parts together, and some parts of the interior. The bad news is the fame and interior tub are a total loss. The hood, front, and rear panels, and glass was glued to the body, but when I tugged slightly on the parts, they just popped right off with no damage with the exception of the glass. A very small chunk of it broke off, but I have an idea on how I might be able to fix it. here's the pics of it... When I get started on it I'll post it regeneration under the title "Saving history".
  17. That's just... That's just... I'm speechless!!!! There are no words to describe how nice your build is. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to pick my jaw up off the floor and go to the doctor to get it re-attached!
  18. I've learned that if I have the hiccups, PUT DOWN the Exacto knife!!!! In all seriousness though, I'd have to say I've learned quite a few things from Bill Geary on his '49 Merc tutorial.
  19. Lately I've been wanting to build models that I had built once before in the past. For instance, I built a 6 wheel van back in the '80s, and now I'm in the middle of building another, but in a larger scale. Another one that I've been wanting to build is this... a Corvette stretched limo The original is long gone, so I got my hands on 2 Monogram Corvette America 4 door kits. Does anyone else do this, try to relive the past and try to make it better? What are your thoughts on this subject?
  20. Well... Since Ismael already told me that the plastic is radioactive and only he can dispose it properly, and I'm guessing you also know how to do that, I guess I can slice it down the center and send each of you half... Thanks for the help and the vote! Thanks Erik! It's gonna be a week or two, but I'll have it up and going soon.
  21. I like that! Saving a bit of history! If you don't mind, when I post it, I'd like to use that for the title. Thanks John!
  22. Bounty... It's the quicker picker upper paint polishing cloth (say that three times fast)!
  23. Looks like it's gonna be a stock restoration. Thank you everyone for your opinions. I'll start a post when I get going on it, and keep it updated. I'll be using an MPC Voodoo kit for the frame, suspension, and interior pieces. Here's a picture of the box art... Thanks again everyone who voted!
  24. Nice work Bill! The black makes it gorgeous!
  25. Thanks Ed. I just wish I had thinner wire... I think it would have looked better.
