  1. Hi Kelly. You've had a lot of good info thrown at you so here's some more. On this project, I would mask the bumper off with a low tack tape like tamiya yellow or something similar that won't disturb the chrome. Then I would cover the top portion in BMF. Burnished it down completely, prime, then spray it black. When dry, carefully scrape off the black from the parts that should be chrome. A black wash or just touch up should cover any imperfections. This could be a tedious process but may get the results you're looking for.
  2. The engine, frame, and under carriage of the Franklin are very well detailed so I'd like to use these parts. Unfortunately the wheelbase is a bit longer than the Entex. So i dismantled the chassis and I'll move the rear axle forward a bit once i figure out how.
  3. I was able to find a Franklin Mint diecast on ebay for a very good price since it wasn't in primo condition. I'll use this as a parts car for the lights, grille, and door handles. The interior parts should really help out. The seats and dash are much better than the Entex parts.

  14. This is coming along very nicely. As for the tires, I would replace them with a thinner lined whitewhall. That would be more appropriate for the era and keep the clean, stock appearance.
