What do you drive?
Perspect Scale Modelworks replied to gasman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Just added this to the stable. 2009 Volvo C30 T5 R Design. It's in good shape and at the price I had to get it. I've always liked these even though, or especially because, they weren't too popular here in the states. Volvo only sold about 4000 of this model year and a total of more than 22,000 from 2008 to 2013 in the US. -

33 Chopped Willys, 3D Body, what now?
Perspect Scale Modelworks replied to Mike Holland's topic in WIP: Model Cars
That cutting disc might be too aggressive. The hot water should be enough. Not boiling hot, just hot enough to touch. Sometimes 3d prints can be brittle and getting too aggressive can cause cracks and breaks. -

From wikipedia: "Polestar Automotive Holding UK PLC, or simply Polestar, is a Swedish automotive manufacturer that produces electric cars. Principally owned by Li Shufu's PSD Investment, Geely Holding and Volvo Cars, the company is headquartered in Torslanda, outside Gothenburg, Sweden. With an "asset-light" approach in development and manufacturing, Polestar does not have its own manufacturing facility; instead it produces cars in facilities controlled by Volvo or Geely in several countries, including China, the United States, and South Korea." You can see the Volvo influence in the body design.

What Irked You Today?
Perspect Scale Modelworks replied to LokisTyro's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Recently I'm hearing primarily younger people, start sentences with "I'm not gonna lie". Well thanks for the warning, but shouldn't that be a given. I think it would be more helpful to let us know when you are going to lie. Or, should we just assume that you are lying if you don't preface you're statement with "I'm not gonna lie"? -
Chrome parts
Perspect Scale Modelworks replied to Kelly's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Hi Kelly. You've had a lot of good info thrown at you so here's some more. On this project, I would mask the bumper off with a low tack tape like tamiya yellow or something similar that won't disturb the chrome. Then I would cover the top portion in BMF. Burnished it down completely, prime, then spray it black. When dry, carefully scrape off the black from the parts that should be chrome. A black wash or just touch up should cover any imperfections. This could be a tedious process but may get the results you're looking for.
