  1. The guy that I flew with gave it up before me.... It got to the point that he got sick of spending tons of money constantly repairing his helicopters..lol.
  2. I was enjoying the RC Helicopter thing.... But it got to the point where you couldn't go flying down at the school fields because there was something going on down there all the time. Other than the school..... The nearest flying field that was AMA sanctioned was 45 minutes away. To far to go to get in few flights..... not to mention Heli fuel prices were getting outrageous.... So I decided to give it up.'
  3. Yeah that the problem with RC stuff Tom......the technology in the hobby increases so fast.... what was the hot ticket two months ago,,,,,is outdated now. Crazy how it works. I took a loss on a lot of what I had, but wanted it gone. At the time I was ready to give it up...nitro fuel prices went through the roof because of the Olympics in China. Main Nitro fuel suppliers stopped making it. 30% heli fuel was pushing 35 bucks a gallon! just crazy!
  4. Well Tom....at one point I sat down and figured out what all I had RC Heli related.... I tallied everything up and it was close to $8,000 invested!..... I have sold everything and have been out of it for a few years now...... But I look back and say Wow!!.... What was I thinking?...lol that's a huge Chunk of change ..lol
  5. I also raced RC cars on the dirt ...carpet and pavement for 9 years way back in my teens and early 20's..... Helis are the toughest thing in RC to learn to master. If you can fly a heli.....you can fly anything. I had 2 complete ready to fly birds....almost 2 grand into each one and a $600.00 radio to control them!....when you start piling them in the ground, it will put you in the poorhouse fast! The guy I flew with was an "expert" at destroying helicopters!
  6. Oh....I crashed my 50 class heli once in 4 years..... I had a guy that I flew with that crashed his pretty much every other weekend!......He kept doing stupid stuff that he wasn't ready for. He wouldn't listen.....so this was always the end result This was how I brought mine home every weekend...
  7. Hey JT... you talked about RC.......well here's what I was into for 4 years.....Nitro RC Helicopters....very expensive hobby!.....here's some pics of some of my birds

  15. There is a small Lumber Co. here where I live, That has a Marmon they did up for logging. Its a pretty cool looking truck. I had a hand in fabricating a lot of parts for this truck at a welding and fab shop I use to work at. I for one would buy this kit and do a replica of their logger. Just another project added to my "to build" list!
  16. Thanks Sean & Clayton!.....I'm gonna be a busy beaver nipping plastic and slinging glue and paint!..... I had the wrecker kit before, and made my West Coast logger out of it. Now I can build the wrecker with this one..lol. You can never have enough kits... its like a drug... addicting!
  17. Well guys, what did Santa bring you?......I hit the jackpot this year with models and supplies!...Here are a few Truck kits that I found under the tree! The Bill Signs kit was a total surprise. A friend of mine that is stationed in Germany sent this kit to me! I have one already and have been really wanting another! wishes do come true!
  18. Happy New Year to all the members on here..... Well except for one........ Anyhow have a great year everyone else!
  19. Hey Mike... Thanks for the kind words. The chain I used I got frm Scalehobbyist.com..... It's actually 1/35 scale chain they have two sizes.... Small and large. It's made by Verlinden. I used the large and it's perfect for what I used it for. Price is good as well. I'm probably one of their better customers,,,,, I order from them all the time!
  20. Now thats how you do a LoneStar Wrecker version! B)
  21. The working ramp isn't that hard to do really. I will go into detail about it in the build with plenty of photos. I've had others ask about that very same thing. So you all will have an understanding of how it works. I'm glad I can help you guys with your questions.
