i agree with my friend above there is a very decent 1/25 scale diecast of the 'general' with only an opening hood. NONE of the window trim has been done so you will need to paint or foil that and it already has the orange paint and the 01 on the doors the flag on the roof and the text above the windows. the only thing i do NOT know if it has the CNH 320 plate on the back bumper like the 1/18 scale has. I personally only have the 1/18 un assembled version that i put together and detailed the plain engine and engine bay and interior parts and put it together. there is also a 1/18 scale plastic general lee toy that looks as if it was made from the same molds as the amt/ertl die cast right down to the 'close but no cigar' rims and it has buttons on the back that make start up and reving sounds, the dixie horn, and a 'YEE HAW!' shout buy the duke boys. and the same company that makes the plastic general lee also has R/C versions one in 1/25 scale and one that is like 1/16 or even a tad bigger

cody NICE work man! the 599 is my favorite ferrari as it reminds me of the classic 365 GTB 'daytona' coupe both cars had front mounted V12s and 2 seats. I REALLY hope that either the factory or some other guys make this into a 'spyder'! I am planning on picking up this kit in the near future .

mist coats are just that you spray a fine mist of paint on the body let it dry and then do it again layering it up. when you try it all at once you get the bloches and the runs. you may have to either wet sand the dark areas down or strip the body and start over there are different ways to do this (brake fluid, oven cleaner, etc).

George, I have a testors 48 ford kit convertible i found in my attic that is open but all of the parts (some may have fallen off) are on the trees and most are still in the baggies. I MAY decided to build it but I may just pass and get the revell/monogram pro modeler version of the kit. if i decide to go with the R/M route you are more than welcome to the testors kit, hit me up via PM with your address and we can 'work something out' .

i was digging around in my attic and i totally forgot i had this kit. any of you guys ever build it or the hard top cousin? I plan on building it as a 46 as a replica of biff tannen's car. i wanna know if ill have any problems building and is there anything that you guys could tell me about this kit. I originally wanted to build this car out of the rare pro modeler 48 but i had no way of converting the 48 into a 46 like i can with this kit. any info and tips would be MOST helpful!

i am glad this model is turning out great but was there a reason to delete my post that had the pics in it? i was helping out by making them appear in my post and offering to help the poster so he wont have problems in the future. they could have just removed the pic links but not the whole post, just curious thats all.

Any Model Kits Coming Out On The Gt-r?
Dave McFly replied to Dave McFly's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
nope it is the R35, the R34 was the one before it (same one that was used in F&F2 the silver car with blue stripes) Following the end of R34 production in 2002, Nissan announced their plans to separate the GT-R model from the Skyline name, creating an entirely new vehicle although it would remain on the same platform as the Skyline. This new car, now known simply as the Nissan GT-R, debuted in 2007 in Tokyo. It will be the first GT-R available worldwide, entering the North American market for the first time. i know there is confusion some say it is a R36 but do a search for R35 and R36 and you get pictures of the same car -

Hasegawa '58 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa!!!!!
Dave McFly replied to larrygre's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I love that movie and the Ferrari ya wanna know an interesting bit of movie trivia. when McG the director of Charlie's Angels and the sequel was getting ready to do part 2 he wanted to have the 250 GT California but when he found out the car in the movie was a replica he tracked down a REAL 1.5 million dollar one for the movie it was used in a scene when one of the angels was chasing along side a bad guy on a luge board. the director was VERY worried the car would get scratched or dinged up during the filming. also that movie was the first time anybody saw the ENZO as it was used to film the movie and then it was shipped off to be debuted at a auto show (Demi Moore was one of the first people and the first woman to drive the car! ). -

i have always wanted a model of that car! "The 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California ('oh yeah'). Less than a 100 were made, my father spent 3 years restoring this car, it is his love, it is his passion." "It is his fault he didn't lock the garage" -

What Do You Do First?
Dave McFly replied to Clay's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
me as i do my body painting in the warmer weather as my work area is in my basement of a brick house in NY. i paint all the parts that are the same colors first when they are on the trees. then i assemble and touch up where the parts were on the trees. -

Question About A Model Kit Reissue
Dave McFly replied to Dave McFly's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
i plan on building it as the coyote car from H&D -
reissue original i recently picked this up recently and wondered other than the fact that it is molded in grey and does not have the 'smoked' glass for the windshield or headlight covers is it the same kit as the MPC issue from the 80s? I used to have the original one when i was a kid and loved it i was not a good body painter then so the fact that it was molded in red made it easy for me i loved the kit and glad they reissued it. the last reissue of a MPC kit of a 80s show that was not as good as the original was the KITT which did not have the 82-84 front fender scoops in front of the door and i had to remove the bird logo off of the C pillar and the TURBO trans am lettering on the front fenders etc.

batmobile chase in batman begins i tell ya what when i saw pics of this car i was like but when i saw it in action on the big screen (AND IMAX ) i was sold. it is a shame that the only kit of this thing is that tiny 1/30 scale from japan or the out of proportion 1/18 from hot wheels.

Richard, the LT5 that was in the ZR1 was designed by lotus and was assembled by hand at mercury marine. you may be thinking of the Yamaha designed and built 3.0 DOHC 24v V6 that was in the SHO Taurus and then later a V8 for the 2nd gen car but was not as well received as the V6 models.
