  1. This is looking great Tommy, the color scheme you have is awesome.
  2. Thanks Ernesto! Sorry I missed your post initially.
  3. Here's a couple of shots of the parachute, I'm just waiting for the paint to get good and dry before I mount it. You can see the little stripped plug wire I've got coming out of the chute to make a horseshoe clip with that I'll run the cable into, and , you can also see, (maybe) , the brackets coming off the back of the plate for mounting it. Cheers!
  4. It's been a journey, but , that's what it's all about right? I've learned some things on this build which will carry over into other builds I guess. The payoff is that these cars can look so darn cool when finished. (I never say 'darn' 1:1). Maybe when the weather turns warmer you'll get inspired.
  5. wheels and tires look just right.
  6. Wow, thanks Ace, I think what may have saved the horse livery, (lol) , is the fact that it had 'white' accents that I couldn't see with the backing paper, so , once applied you have red/white/and black as the main colors on the body, that's a strong color combo. As far as you building one half as good,...I thought of your red Falcon many times on this build. I don't think you need to worry about that. Thanks for all the input, I'm not sure I would have this car without it. I've almost got the 'chute ready to mount, I will post a few pics soon.
  7. I like it, including the skirts. 'Very' clean work TJ. Looks like you got that grill to fit well.
  8. Ok Richard, the bars do look kind of thin, let's take her out for a test spin and punch on the gas and see how she holds up!
  9. Thanks a lot JC, I don't think the 4 looked that bad, just not very realistic I guess, (" hey, what's with the giant 4 on the red Mustang?). I got the 285 from the Double Dragster kit, along with the snorting horse. I'm in the process of painting the parachute now, I made some little brackets for it that mount onto the back plate, and then attach near the bumper. It's my first time doing a parachute like this, it's not too bad so far. Peace.
  10. Looks nice Ludwig.
  11. you're doing a nice job on this Kevin. There's another thread on here ('69 GTX) where someone is trying to figure out what to do with chrome head lights. Be interesting to see what you guys come up with. I haven't had to deal with that problem in a while, for a 'streetable' car. when i was a kid I would have painted them flat black. lol.
  12. god, what a beautiful sound. That car just looks good to me too. What's the big deal about Cobra's anyway?
  13. Can't wait to see this car in paint.
  14. I forgot about doing it that way! Much easier.
  15. I'm just afraid I won't be able to get around those little bitty letters with the blade. I'll just have to try it.
  16. That could work, just have to try it and see what it looks like. Then there's always water based artists acrylic, for easy clean up if you don't like it. Paint is looking good. I have yet to venture into the realm of pre-foiling script, I think I need to practice that first.
  17. Ya, that's one beautiful Cobra for sure. I'll take the fiberglass version, lol. Think positive about the painting and it will happen.
  18. JC, I just looked up Viking blue, and they show several Cobra's in that color, very cool. I also found this link about the 50TH ANNIVERSARY FIA 289 SHELBY COBRA, from Shelby American I thought you might like to see if you already haven't. The car is in Viking Blue, wow: http://www.30npire.com/cars/50th-anniversary-fia-289-shelby-cobra
  19. looks nice kevin, good job on the turn signal lense, that looks like real plastic! I wonder if putting a 'really thin' black wash on those head lights wouldn't help them look more real? Maybe someone has some other idea that would be simple to apply.
  20. get a zip seal plastic sandwich bag and label one for each engines parts. I use them for all kinds of stuff.
  21. Looking good Richard, the glass is going to look great! I'd go with the deep green metallic! The reason(s) are; I've been wanting to paint a car that color myself, and , I think it would look cool on this car as well.
  22. Looks nice JC, so does the mockup. What's the body color on this? Blue with white stripes?
  23. looks like a nice smooth paint job Kevin.
