  1. Man Richard, everything looks great, really nice work. I'm not sure about the Hurst decal though. The helmet is a very nice touch.
  2. James, I have one of his frames for the Hemi Hustler kit and it's pretty good. I also used his tires on this Mustang. Snake, I've restled with this thing long enough, at some point in the future I may tear it down and fix it, thanks for the suggestion, I'll keep that in mind. Thanks Kevin, it looks good to me too, I can live with it, it's not like Harry is showing up tomorrow for a pictorial in MCM, lol. Truth is, I'm torn, (and , frayed) , so , I'll just let it rest for a while. I do however appreciate all the comments, and , suggestions , truely.
  3. Thanks Dave, hope yours turn out well for you. Snake, you hit the nail(s) right on the head man. I'd like to see someone build one of these with all the things you mention addressed, thanks.
  4. Thanks Kevin. If I get nothing out of this build other than what is seen in the picture below, I'm satisfied with that. This doesn't have to be the centerpiece of my builds. The real problem is that I don't like the cars stance, which is something that needs to be addressed early on, well , since I've never built the kit, I didn't know the effect of 'not' addressing those problem's, now I do. So, even if I successfully fix the remaining paint problem, I'm still not gonna really like it. The question then becomes is it worth the effort? I'm beginning to think not. the stance just makes it look 'goofish' and 'toyish' know what I mean?
  5. 2X! Wow, looks like things are actually moving! Great job!
  6. Very Nice! That body is killer.
  7. Thanks Ray, Did you lengthen the frame in front?
  8. Nice job Ray! How did you get the stance lower? Suspension, or , interior tub, or , both? Love that yellow man, it fits the car so well. Also like the Thrush 'pecker, fits the car perfectly. Did you mask off the wheels to paint the black, or , did you just paint 'carefully? Thanks, Gene
  9. Very nice Dann, not a color seen often, very cool.
  10. Did they have a high impact blue for this year? I never see these cars in blue. I found this online, it's not high impact but looks good with the black striping/accents, I think it might be 'Lucerne blue? Not sure.
  11. Sounds like fun! Tamiya has so many great colors.
  12. Very cool, love the gas cap. Are you still going with dark green metallic for the color of the car?
  13. Thanks Carl, I'm making a little progress with decals,
  14. Tthose colors look great JC, glad you're painting! Lots of info in this thread, I appreciate it all
  15. Thanks Carl, I'm in there. Richard, I think your idea is brilliant, but,.....I already restored the decals as best I could by putting new decals over the beatup ones and then a little Tamiya flat white on one of them. Thanks for the suggestion, it's a good one. Here are some before, and , after shots: Man, I've been having all kinds of problems with pics and what order they appear in the post, ahhh!
  16. Cool looking car Curtis. I've been down this road with a kit in similar condition, it can be done.
  17. Hey Richard, you made me laugh. What happened is that I didn't tape that area off properly, (my first repaint of just a 'section' of a car, I did from the rear of the door forward), and , I thought the lines from the tape wouldn't show up. Well, I got the paint on way too heavy, and it pooled/goobed up around the tape edges, so the lines 'really' showed up. The rest of what I painted, which you can't see in the photo looks fine. Just my inexperience. Your idea seems plausible, hmmmmmmmmm. Thanks Jeff, I hope you're right, we'll see. Thanks for all the help and suggestions guys.
  18. Wow, Jim, that's a beauty! That paint job is really nice, I like that you came up with it yourself. Those wheels look great too, nice job all round!
  19. It's a 'Dragonsnake' Cobra, built for the dragstrip, no? I'm just suprised to see the Willy's beat it out of the hole, that's all.
  20. Man, that is so bad it is phenomenal, not sure what I'm gonna do you guys, gotta make it right though.
  21. Ok, it's time for the truth to be exposed. Here's a good lesson in the " when to leave well enough alone " annals. And what can happen when you don't It's pretty ugly, so you may want to take the children to another room. First up we have the upper/front fender and then the passenger side livery, or , the other way round::
  22. You did a nice job nonetheless.
  23. Nice build Kyle, I love these cars. I think the hood scoop kind of puts it in other terrain than 'Gentleman' though.
  24. Very nice build Robert, thanks for sharing.
