  2. It's up to you - but if rubber band tyres were any good they'd use them for racing. They are good for saving rubber, making your dentist rich and impressing the local youths. Shame to put them on a muscle car, especially one as sharp as yours looks.
  3. Lovely models, but did the pilots bale out?
  4. They were a dealer option on quite a few cars that Harry has posted, along with the fuzzy black radiator badge and mascot!
  5. PM sent! They don't make 'em like that any more.
  6. At least the owner put it on the right end of the car... Clearly it gives much needed downforce when reversing into a parking space!
  7. This should be easy, but not for me! It is a lovely thing.
  8. "Posted 15 August 2014 - 04:50 PM Thanks guys. I guess it is hard to see in the photos, but the spare is secured to the floor of the trunk. (I too learned that lesson in my Z/28) There is even a metal reinforcement plate on the outside of the bottom of the trunk floor for the threaded rod to anchor to." Brilliant! I'm glad I asked, even more impressed now! -Don.
  9. It makes a lot more sense than the $10.9 million that Chris Evans paid for a 250 SWB Ferrari California Spider in 2008. And then he repainted it in white... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/classiccars/6937571/Chris-Evans-Ferrari-250GT-California-Spider.html
  10. This is a fantastic model. So real it's got me wondering if the imagined owner would stow his jack, wheelbrace etc. so carelessly in that alloy spare wheel - after a bit of enthusiastic driving they would be flying all over the place inside the boot (trunk), knocking paint off and denting the metal. This I know from experience. Keep up the good work!
  11. PM sent! Funny how the style never quite caught on, perhaps that perforated engine cover made the rider a little too hot in traffic! Roast chestnuts, anyone?
  12. I think it's a model because the orange on the front wheel is too bright and clean looking. A very good model though. -Don.
  13. I often see the i8 being driven around at work (BMW GB) and the noise really doesn't match the looks. It sounds like a cross between a VW beetle and a lawnmower. Of course when the engine is not in use, there's almost no noise at all. I think they have to make it make some sort of noise for road safety reasons, or you'd never hear it coming. Which doesn't excuse them piping sampled engine noise into the cabin.
  14. Sell it and buy a 12 year old BMW 3 series and put the left over wad of cash in the bank!
  15. Pretty shabby but quite a few other far eastern 'motor manufacturers' do similar things. Perhaps the original designers should be flattered!
  16. Wish I had time to look for this, it intrigues me but I'm up at 5 tomorrow to go to work away for the week and I have stuff to get done! Good one!
  17. You could at least fix your wife's parking brake! Seriously it's good to see 4x4s being used properly, not for the school run or shopping in Kensington High Street!
  18. I built the Packard years ago, I seem to remember the plastic was a little odd compared to other kits. It's long gone now, sadly. Good luck with collecting the set!
  19. What's not to like?
  20. Why would you care what this is? It'll be in someone's way somewhere... Unlike E.J. Potter.
  21. Once again I wasn't able to take part but it's okay, I've now learned about another vehicle I was unaware of. Apparently the first 'production' fibreglass bodied car, and it was in a movie with Tony Curtis! Good one.
  22. PM sent! A proper motor car...
  23. Pity I was away at work - I knew this one!
  24. The good news is that my wife can now stand to watch the racing 'cos the cars sound so much better! Neither of us were fans of the sound of last year's cars. I like the way this years cars seem to handle, too.
