  1. What a beauty Jim. IMO folks like you set the bar for the ultimate realism in model building. It just looks so dang real!!!
  2. Picked this jewel up for $5.00 at HL. The box was opened and everything looks to be in there. What gives? Looks like I've got all the spare parts I need now!
  3. What's up with the good prices all the sudden at HL? I went in there yesterday and got an AMT 37 Chevy that the box was open on for $5. You read it right FIVE bucks. I don't get it. That kit normally runs 27 bucks regular price wether the box was open or not!
  4. Thanks Jim. You're right I'll get it. It's a bummer of sorts but like I always say, that's modeling. I've since got it primed and threw a mist coat on earlier. I just now painted the gloss red back on and primed the hood scoop. I have a small speck of dust to sand out of the hood scoop but that aint nuthin'.
  5. Do I see a WIP in the future if you're able to do something with it? Nice grab Clayton!
  6. OK folks I totally stripped the hood......AGAIN! The decal setting solution made its way all the way down through the primer!! Updates coming......
  7. I've got about 60 in the stash right now and have plans on 3 more in my immediate future. I am planning to thin it out by a good 10 kits though.
  8. Thanks John for commenting. The exhaust manifolds came from here.
  9. Thanks Ira 'Preciate it there Dan!! I'm surprised I could find them. lol Pat: Yesiree . I'm running a couple of GB's elsewhere and that's a mug for it.
  10. Thanks JC! Al: I thought still of doing a diorama but then again....that's another project I'd have to commit to. lol Charles: Believe it or not everything else in the room was thrown out except for my cars which were still on my display shelves..................untouched. Dave: You aint kiddin' there. I was surprised myself. lol This is another one of those "tweeks" that I was talking about. For the life of me I just couldn't leave the grille the way it was. I broke out the Tamiya Smoke and used a little 70% ISO to help it flow into all the little grooves in the grill and applied a very subtle wash.
  11. Had to get something done on this puppy. After removing the tons of flash that this cab/ front clip had, it was time to primer it. Will be moving on to the doors next.
  12. Got this yester day........... To go with........... To look somethin' like this....(OOB only has the larger decals and NONE of the other stuff)
  13. Nice!! I'm gonna have to rack up one of these kits.
  14. Thanks Carl and Jim!! I hear you on being busy Jim!! I was out of town for half of last week and have only gotten a couple of things done on the truck since Monday. I'll be hitting it hard this weekend though.
  15. I like it!! Lookin' good so far Jim!!
  16. Man I really like this Billy! Bring 'er home dude!
  17. Another great looking build Blair! I really like that background that you take all your pics with.
  18. That's one helluva build for 4 days! I don't think I could have done this good in a months time frame! LOL. Great job Jesse!!
  19. You're just a building machine Jesse! Looking forward to the outcome.
  20. Here we go. This is just after a washing with mild soap and warm water with everything nice and clean. and here is a day later after polishing with Novus #2 and then I hit it with Novus #1. I was shocked really because the original paint didn't look like this! and a shot of the rear of the body.... As one can plainly see, paint coverage wasn't a strong point of mine back then. lol more on the way...........
  21. Man that looks really good! Especially for being started over the weekend!!!!
  22. Thanks Greg! Dude I'll tell ya....it's gonna take me a lot less time to do what I want to do with this build than it would if I started over. LOL! I'm buiding a 56 Ford F-100 now that I've been on now for about 4 months already and there's another 4 months to go at least. There aint no way I'm about to start another build right now.
  23. John: Thank you. I've gotta say my modeling skills back then were pretty much a "shake and bake" style. Al: LOL!!!
