  1. Amy- Harry P.s Daughter has a Porsche Pocher for sale on ebay right now if anyone is interested...................
  2. Just Finished this one in big 1/8 scale. a tribute to Harry P. the build can be seen in BIG BOYZ Forum
  3. Finally got it done- I finished at 12 midnight Friday in time to bring it to the NNL West Saturday. More pics soon in the under glass section. I am glad its done- a long project but am satisfied with the results. thanks to all for the help and hints. and this one is for you Harry!
  4. I have the doors but they are green from the green issue. cool to see one of Harrys early builds
  5. WOW the only give-a-way that made me realize it was not real was the bracket on the firewall around where a later aftermarket master cylinder would be mounted. it might be where the ''bee hive'' oil filter was to be mounted????? super work-especially the tubing nuts!!! and hose clamps.
  6. and here is the engine now-pretty much complete...
  7. to make the radiator hoses I used BIG gauge wire- pulled out the copper strands and shortened them so the ends would hook up to block and radiator then inserted the strands again so the hose would hold a curve. the copper strands come in handy for tubing [fuel and vacuum] cut some more sheet to make up hose clamps....
  8. there is a data plate on the firewall that I saw in original photos so I made one up- cut a small piece of aluminum sheet-used a punch to make ''rivet dimples'' painted with a sharpie and then inscribed the patent dates and FORD script- -easy-fast and a nice touch....
  9. its the small details that make a difference on a model this size- here is the speedometer cable and a scratch built hold down bracket. next was making up the throttle and choke linkages. the fabric conduit behind the fuel pump is the engine wiring from the dash.
  10. happy new year! I now have the interior completed-all scratch built except the seat which i ended up filling with putty to get rid of the contours. the floor mat was painted the correct taupe color. the window shade for the rear window was fun- it is an old paper rolled up with scratch brackets and pull string.. here are some images
  11. best build of this kit I have seen. your attention to detail is superb. where did you get jack stands and engine stand in 1/8 scale???
  12. mighty sharp work going on here-I think the gasket on the hatch window is fine!!!!
  13. Super fine work without going '' overboard'' . the paint on the fuel tank lines is just fine, the British Racing Green is the best tone I have seen and the seats also look like real leather. the tailpipe weathering is perfect along with the oil sweat on the engine. did you use alclad on the stone guard frames and radiator? I have one of these in the closet and now this makes me want to build it. very nice work sir!!!
  14. Hello Henry- I am a ''rattle can '' Modeler.. it is amazing how many colors are offered these days at the Hardware store.- ''my hobby shop''- this can did not even say what type of paint but I am pretty sure it is Enamel. the paint is Rust-Oleum painters touch 2X ultra cover paint and primer gloss Kona Brown. the moldings on the coupe were hand painted with a testors gloss black paint pen. despite good prep and heating the paint can I still had orange peel issues. this seems to happen to me every time with brown colored paint. it is a Mystery to me.. good to hear from a modeler so far away !!!!!
  15. Thanks Noel for the inspirational words-they have got me back into this project and I hope to have it done for the NNL west here on February 3rd
  16. SUPERB WORK- the side windows and slightly dull finish add to the realism. one of the best I have seen here.
  17. The cracked dash and windshield especially good. the color of the wheel in the grass is superb. very well done and realistic!
  18. Thanks Skip-I did and they have some super nice head lights. however this is a Ford and not a Bugatti. I have already gone way over budget on this one and just want to get it finished. is it true there is a book out on Harry's Models? I would rather spend some $ on that.
  19. is this resin or die cast ?
  20. AMAZING Build- great to see one with the top up and the colors are great. how did you do the wheels?

    34 Ford

nice work on the stock Flathead. i like the spiral hoses and clamps especially.
  22. SUPERB-looks like the real one! the copper water outlets are especially fine. and all of the paint tones super realistic- nice heat marks on the exhaust also
  23. If you have seen a stock 32 you know how big and highly mounted the headlights are. the big deuce gives you small hot rod lights so some improvising needed to be done again here. I cut the buckets from 1.5 inch wooden balls and painted with semi gloss black paint then a special metallic -also from Rustoleum. the backs of the lenses were cut from a chrome card stock and the rims and lenses modified from a BIG motorcycle toy. the real ones are stainless so this should be convincing enough. you guys are probably laughing at the '' OLD SCHOOL '' stuff going on here- my ''hobby shop'' is the Hardware store!
  24. finally got some paint on the body. and the moldings painted too. I ended up doing the black moldings by hand as the masking tape I was using was not cooperating. I think they turned out even better with no bleeding. the top insert was cut from an old school binder that had a nice ''grain'' to it . the colors are original Ford. Thorn brown and black moldings.
