  1. Thanks Guys- I got the kit at a swap meet long ago for $4.00 Have not seen one since -but i am sure there are some out there somewhere. it was a 70s vintage release I believe. the side view mirrors were especially nice but extremely fragile.
  2. Superb kit- but no engine-went together fast
  3. As they say in Spanish ''El Chassis es Completo''! starting to prep the body and after washing 2 times with detergent I still have a fish-eye problem....Nuts!!!!!
  4. 1/18 Hot Wheels die cast slammer of the day...hot rod primer.changed wheels, made door handles and visor, ready to rumble....
  5. are you sure thats not real?!!!
  6. very sharp-looks like the real deal
  7. COOL Diorama- I bet those Minis handled fun in the snow with the front wheel drive.
  8. nice choice of colors-grill looks perfect!
  9. great weathering on the wood and chassis. looks like real trucks I have seen when I was a kid.
  10. Very Authentic looking-engine details look correct as well. these 26-27 Model Ts are actually kinda rare in 1/1 scale.
  11. MisterNNL Tom- as far as I know the same front end was on the big trucks as well- Ford sold a chassis cowl unit from 1/2 ton up to 2.5 ton trucks. that is usually the unit that went to the body company to have a bus body installed. some of the suburbans were used as small school buses also. check out the 37 cab over-a very rare truck!!!
  12. Eric- I wish I did- seems like a better car than the Model T. and Thanks to Craig for more info on the REO / DODGE History- it seems all the auto companies are related in some form or another.
  13. very detailed build-engine also looks great. what orange paint did you use? it is a perfect shade for a project i have in mind
  14. AMAZING BUILD-THE Bristol engine is superb in detail and colors and that was a great idea using a block of styrene to carve out and extend the grill area. it all looks super so far. my dad had a 58 Aceca back in the early 60s. believe it or not he traded 1 year old VW convertible for it. it is the very first car I remember riding in - I wish we had it now-especially when I heard the value on the video car. his car was black also, same interior. however it had the windshield with the round lower corners [better looking-I think] some day I would like to build a large scale model of it. at least 1/16 scale.
  15. WOW Nice weathering and rust detailing-are those Jo-Han Cadillac v-16 wheels?
  16. Just for fun -and little known today.....Dodge Bros touring cars were the first automobiles used in US combat.the year was 1916 when Pancho Villa raided a Small New Mexico town. Villa was assassinated in Parral Mexico in 1923 in a similar Dodge touring car. the car is still on display in Chihuahua Mexico. to see how tough these Automobiles were go to youtube and check out OIL FIELD DODGE.
  17. Thanks guys- I did this because I could not find a scale version any where. these are authentic dodge colors-kind of like the model T -they came in black however they had blue artillery spoke wheels prior to 1920s. many Dodge touring cars have survived because of the fact that they had an all steel Bud body-no termite problems. Reo was related directly to Oldsmobile- REO stands for Ransom E. Olds. so the light blue car in the last photo is what I started with- I saw a similarity in the body style-however the 2 car companies were not related at all [.as far as I know] for the conversion I stripped the wheels.added hubcaps and repaint-Man o Man the paint is tough to strip on these diecast cars-I finally had to soak the wheels in Lacquer thinner and wash immediatly to stop the plastic from melting!!! the Reo radiator shell was pointed on the top tank so that was filed down flat and the Dodge Star badge added.the louvers were filed off the hood and the headlight bar deleted and the headlights raised, buckets painted. the steering wheel came from an old Aurora 1/16 Stutz kit.the taillight was moved to center of the spare and a period Cal. plate added. whole car was disassembled and painted black- the interior was too hard to remove so it was masked. the car seems to be more like 1/16 scale standing next to similar scale cars.. below are a few pics I used for reference on the build-I am glad at least a few builders were interested in this-
  18. Built from a similar year REO. 1/18 scale die cast.
  19. evidently roll bars work for launches off of tables too. nice build and the black paint looks fine to me..... do the AC Ace Bristol next-we don't see enough of those- or any of those for that matter.
  20. the 1/18 Bburagos have pretty good proportions. worth'' up rating'' for sure... I have an e-type coupe now that I want to change to'' Primrose'' color and put some nicer wire wheels on. that will be all it needs to make it look like a much more expensive car
  21. Wow- nice paint and foil work and the tires look real.
  22. Amazing guy-Briggs Cunningham- after starting his own car company I think he realized it was more reasonable to modify the xks -as racing was really his interest. I sure do wish a large scale model of the C4 or C4R were available. I believe they were Chrysler powererd.
  23. VERY SHARP- the colors complement each other nicely
  24. an AMAZING build- especially considering what you started with. one of the best in this scale I have seen here.....
  25. repaint from Motor Max release. actually a pretty nice model with correct shape back window- anyone ever notice the Monogram 40 pickup has a 38- 39 truck back window???
