  1. I thought it looked real at first glance-then I noticed the clutch cable-it would never have such a sharp curve.
  2. I believe that bulge is a cowl vent for the cockpit of this VERY HOT CAR
  3. very cleverly done-but its a model-the wheels and headlites give it away-and the 1/1 size tire print in the dirt--nice model though-is it 1/8? or possibly bigger- and could it be a 3D printed job?-- thats what it looks like to me
  4. beautiful stock build-thanks for not putting on white walls!
  5. now thats what I call a ''rust bucket'' - great weathering. perfect candidate for ABE and FERGYS
  6. the wood panels have a perfect grain-and not too shiny- the windshield trim is the sharpest and true to scale I have seen. very nice work for an ''out of the box'' build.
  7. Beautiful work. the wood grain on dash and steering wheel especially nice-and engine room additions very well done. just missed a built one of these on e bay -looked pretty complete- final bid was 150....well theres always another one... good to know they come apart because I would buy a built one and redo it. [more reasonable price] I still think the tires are not fat enough!
  8. seems like one could use that ''shrink tube'' for the spring gaiters for a pretty good effect- but not with plastic springs!
  9. well-thats my latest 1/1 project- its a 41 Ford pickup- my wife found it in a shed. it had been parked since 1977.
  10. Harry is right- if they are not arced your wheels will be too close to the fender-better at least make that check before you snug everything down! you can use the kit supplied springs as a guide I would think.
  11. FANTASTIC DETAIL- saw this car at NNL WEST and I can tell you it is even better in person! I do have some critique though- and that is the muffler-seems to be dangerously low and vulnerable to rocks- even if the kit came that way I would lift it up. The dark green paint is also superb and a nice contrast to the Vanden -Plas body work. an inspirational build!
  12. Looking at that frame- this is incentive for a Locomobile as well in 1/8. I have been collecting for a bigger version
  13. I know- x3......got real busy with 1/1 scale projects. the photos have been collected for years from Locomobile searches on the web. I am working on more Vanderbilt era racers . but my policy is to collect all of the parts I need before starting the project- basically the same for my 1/1 projects. the ALCO black Beast has lots of potential for another curbside...........................................................................................................
  14. I think your first car #1 looks like an ALCO-maybe its a later ''stock'' Locomobile . the #7 is the Gordon Bennett Loco redone . and #12 is OLD 16 as it ran in 1906. Joe Tracy at the wheel.
  15. heres LOCOMOBILE #1 it was also in the 08 Vanderbilt but finished 3rd after Lytles Isotta. driver was Joe Florida. the car was almost exactly identical to OLD 16. supposedly about 70 percent of this car in the form of parts was in the hands of Peter Helck-came as spares when he acquired OLD 16. it is being re-created in Connecticut not far from the original Locomobile Factory! check out the guy with the bearskin coat and the flower pot hat!
  16. same here- I want to build another version or maybe the sister car- Locomobile #1-
  17. beautiful paint work on the body. I have 2 questions- 1-what material is used on the seats?[ Upholstery and stuffing] and 2- how do you make the headlights look so real? another excellent Aurora for the collection. a very authentic build!
  18. Wow -that was a ''collectors price'' for the combo pack- the 2 OLD 16s I did not bid on-they look incomplete.
  19. I cannot find anything wrong with it- absolutely perfect spot-on work. looks real and the colors are superb. best jag ive seen here!
  20. exceptional realism-looks like you are there- you have a great talent for detail!
  21. never in a million years-but im glad theres a few of us out here! Just got my big Deuce today-wow is this thing huge.
  22. amazing-looks real- what kind of camera do you use?
