I looked at it again and its fine-they just took off the frame rails and the rest is numbered and fine-rare to get a plastic packet still sealed[almost]!
dont forget to fill the holes on the side rails like I did. [if its going to be fenderless] the running board mount plates might need to be ground off too.[bracket w/3 rivets] I also forgot to delete those on mine.
chassis looks great though-makes me want to start another.....
I had the same thing happen-mine was a started kit. but no other parts were painted-just the yellow and apparently sprayed on the trees.I thought the previous owner did it. every FUMAN I bought also has tires that were defective-slightly off set on the tire tread. the ENTEX tires are the best!
this kit was so out of proportion and set up incorrectly but I fixed that. the hood had to be lengthened by 3/4 of an inch.dash completely changed along with all of the chassis details. a new oil pan was made, gas tank lowered and plumbed.
Hey- its a RR- you can have it anyway you want it! with the sporty ''wings'' I would paint it all gloss black. delete the whitewalls and either a black or tan top.
that would really set off the chrome wire wheels. and of course a red leather interior. now that would be classy....[just an opinion]
whats the deal with the fenders on this car? looks like they should be on an earlier sports racer. I believe it should have fenders like the 1/16 Revell RR.
I dont know if his spanners are small enough! do they give you tools with this model?
I would not want to use a spoke tightening wrench on those wheels!!!!
so it seems one could get a broken- built one for 200 or under.
I saw an after market wood wheel set for the Fiat but the ''grain'' seemed all wrong. the tires would for sure need to be replaced. the rest could have some scratch building to look excellent. maybe I will try one!
there a guy -also on youtube- at a texas car museum with a raceabout-sez its worth a million!!!!!!!!!!!! to bad we can't scale up!
the riding mechanic was known as a ''MECHANICIAN'' I got that from Peter Helcks book-'' The Checkerd Flag''
