  1. yes- it does have a good looking hot rod stance. very good angles on your photography also.
  2. If im not mistaken thats the same chain I used on OLD 16. I think there must be a scale chain out there possibly used by clock makers ??? in brass ...the Pocher Fiat chain is very nice but one would have to buy a kit to obtain it.
  3. Great amount of information and talent here-the wheels are fantastic and the alclad finish is perfect-real chrome is too shiny on these models-they now look like real steel.[almost are!] I noticed you use many suppliers-do you know where I can buy scale chain and sprockets for my Historic racers? 1/16- and 1/8 scale cars? I know it must be out there. I look foreward to seeing more of this build.
  4. thats one model I sure would like to get my hands on!
  5. not to worry on the ITALA-now that I know you want it Ill stay out of it. we are finally getting some rain here. I have so many cars in mind now I dont know which to start on -but you can be sure I will post something when I get started. was thinking of a 1/8 scale OLD- 16 starting with the ITC MERCER. the other one I am gathering parts now for is a 32 FORD 5 window- coupe-1/8 scale STOCK! check out ABE and FERGYS in the dioramas for a surprise.
  6. well I hope you get it- the chassis has nice quality details and the plastic is superb. for my projects I try to buy one any time I can.
  7. oh-it was the trailer that looked 1/18-I have the same one-GMP
  8. looks fine to me. like a well used limo!
  9. looks like a friend of mines back yard, I really like the backing plate on the right rear-looks real.
  10. interesting subject.nice work. I would like to see the real car- Hemmings Daily just did a story on this car and the copies that were out there. seems the actual car is now on display in a Vegas Casino.
  11. Wow Manny-thats some GRAPHIC modeling!
  12. the brick work is very convincing-you are off to a good start. good to see someone working the 1/18 die-cast. I love redoing these.
  13. was this at NNL west?- saw it or one like it- beautiful work!
  14. Fantastic diorama builder and even better Photographer. my only critique is the streets and garages need more grunge. but I think the point here is Nostalgia in a kind of ''dream like setting''
  15. Whos Iggy and Seb? - this is Abe and Fergys!
  16. Sometimes she has to come looking for me out here!
  17. MORE SNAPSHOTS OF ABE and FERGYS -BACK 40... For you woody fans check out the 37-wood all gone and the 41s- still some potential!
  18. WOW -I figured with such a sophisticated kit you could just slap it together! now I am learning this is not so. considering the weight that must be involved in the finished kit- they should have made the chassis parts brass-at least the axles.
  19. you guys are lucky to have these Pochers-imagine scratch building ALL of these details
  20. Yea-thats a great site-thanks to Howard-I spend alot of time there myself.
  21. yes-after a pit stop for gas Lancias mechanic was screaming at him to wait .but he pulled out straight into Christies path. the American refused to give up his right of way.Christies car was destroyed, his mechanic catapulted into a field like a rag doll.a pair of damaged rear wheels on the Fiat took Lancia an hour to fix ,after he had spent a few minuites persuading the crowd not to tear him limb from limb for having wrecked Christie.
  22. where did you find out about the ticket box? and I was wrong on the smaller box -unless it is what it is-as I just saw a period photo with it!
  23. I read somewhere it was a box for check point documents.[notice there is some official badge on the box] when the racers came into a town or checkpoint the box was opened and proof that the car passed was enclosed by race or town officials. the smaller box seen on top in some of the old 16 photos is a roadside flag-reflector kit used before emergency blinkers in case of a breakdown- Peter carried this later as I have not seen it in early photos. it is amazing how much there is to know about these early racers- something new all the time..............
  24. I would build the Fiat like #3 pic . with aluminium Body and exhaust soot on the hood.-still working on gettin mine on line............. did you notice one of the pipes gave out on the hood from too many belches of flame ? [#2 cylinder] by the way -from what ive read-Lancia was a Madman-seen polishing off a bottle of Chanpaigne in the wee morning hours before boarding his car for the race.theres a great book about the early cars and races by Ken Miles Called ''kings of the road'' sells for cheap on line and a Fantastic read on all of the cars we are building here.
  25. Congratulations on your Grandson!!!!! it is good to see a modeler concerned about authenticity on this car as well as all of your subjects. I like the #1 post with the body sanded-looks like a barn find! just was looking through an old AACA magazine and saw a 1900 CDO fitted with hard rubber tires. by the way- EXCELLENT work on the Wolseley-nice colors and different for a change. HEY Skip-let him stay with the Brass cars as long as he wants- he does such Fantastic work!!!!!!
