Back From The Dead.... Anglia Street Roddin'
JTalmage replied to chunkypeanutbutter's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Chop, Cut, Rebuild! dig it. I'd say a dark red metallic all over. -
I have checked 3 stores and cannot find the midget racer!!!!! I'm getting frustrated! I did go to another Ollies and use my 10% off coupon and got another superbird, another Ramcharger dodge, and a 66 GT350. Also won this on ebay. Been wanting a 49 ford for custom work/top chop.... Looks like its falling apart/missing parts... but its all good.

What music mediums do you use?

Thanks! Inherited about half of it... Bought the rest. LOL The collection has grown since this picture... That box w/ the Sam Kinison record up front has turned into 2 milk crates. Already full. I've cooled off on my vinyl buying for the time being. -

I'm not that great either. I've learned bits and pieces of things but not whole songs. I've got all this gear cheap or free so I said why not? haha -
Looking for some inspiration... and with Ollie's selling these things off cheap I find it really hard to resist them... but I know how old/outdated/fiddly the kits are and how poor the tooling was and don't expect much when I open the boxes.... That being said... Let's see what kind of masterpieces the rest of you have turned those Tall T, roadster and truck kits in to! I'm very tempted to pick up quite a few of them, and use them as a basis for learning how to build scratchbuilt hotrod frames, body channeling, and using leftover speed parts from all the old Round2 double kits and a mix of aftermarket resin stuff to make some sweet hot rods.

Crazy how a big brute American big block with some work beat up on a bunch of Ferrari's

At work I have some Altec Lansing computer speaks w/ some sort of bass boost called Phantom Bass. They're pretty cool. I get in trouble a lot for the volume. haha At home, since I'm slowing going up the technology chain... I have a sweet Samsung sound bar w/ bluetooth. So I can synch my phone (Galaxy S4) with about 2200 songs on my SD card, and play until I'm content. Of course there's always youtube which will play thru the sound bar from my phone.. and I also have my Sony PS3, which I can do youtube on as well... but requires more interaction. The garage has a neat little 40 dollar Logitech 2 speaker and subwoofer setup I bought from walmart that plugs in w/ a 3.5mm audio cable to my phone... again, with 2200 songs or youtube. Or, I can plug it into the headphone jack of the radio out there and enhance the sound of the radio. It's pretty neat. Then of course I have all this stuff... But if we're also talking about my own terrible music... I've got this stuff too.. That green amp head is 175 watts of LOUD. I dont have pictures of my other cabinet and head, and my little practice amp I got w/ a strat recently for free. -
I knew waking up this morning I felt "off" and that something was either wrong or going to happen. I don't usually get these premonitions but when I do they are usually pretty accurate. Sure enough, I ended up rear-ending someone in traffic. Crappy day, crappy traffic, crappy weather. Ugh. anyway thats my small rant for today.

The Ramcharger Dodge 330 is a considerably better kit than most Lindberg kits. Looks to be pretty good. My body was slightly warped but a few quick slight twists holding it for a second straightened it right out. my 71 Mustang on the other hand has a broken A pillar... and lots of flash Dunno why I ever bought that one. My Roadster pickup is soooo bare bones and basic I'm starting to regret that one too... that one might get chopped up and hot rodded w/ a custom frame.

It's definitely got some 60's sports car heritage at a glance. I really like this design instead of their spikey wedge designs on all the new lambos. Almost looks like a Ferrari. -
Havent opened the box yet. I may do that on lunch here in about 30mins.

Got these from Ollie's yesterday. Not ones I was dying for, but it's something. Especially for the price.

Is there an 'Ollie's' near by
JTalmage replied to GLMFAA1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I picked up 6 kits from Ollie's yesterday. 6 for the price of 2 at a hobby store... maddness. definitely a good deal but dont go in expecting the newest releases from Revell or Round2 LOL! It's seems most of the stores have the near-exact stock except for a few. I've noticed people on the facebook group getting the 74 Challenger, and the Curtis Midget racer. I'd like to find those as well. I came away yesterday w/ the Lindberg model t pickup 3n1, 64 Ramcharger dodge 330, 71 Mustang, and Revell 37 Ford sedan Classic cruiser, 62 Impala 2n1, and 70 superbird. May go back for another superbird and ramcharger dodge. -
Finally! Just won a monogram '30 ford 5 window on ebay that didn't bid sky high.

Super cool project. Gotta be tough finding replacement parts for those things though... I wish my school had an automotive class back when I was in high school. I had to learn on my own, as money allowed, to buy the tools to learn. Kinda wish I went in to automotive instead of I.T.
