  1. Here are some sketches of how I might finish the tail.
  2. I made some collapsed bags for a dump trailer tag axle by sticking the air bag in a C clamp. I applied some heat with a heat gun, and slowly applied pressure with the clamp. It worked perfect, and wrinckled it just like it would be. It helps to clamp the clamp in a vise, unless you have 3 arms.
  3. Thanks guys. I hope to have a big update on this weekend. I need to start building the driveline. I have a lot of evergreen tubing to cut up into headers, and mount an airplane engine into a peterbilt. It needs to be as realistic as possible, because when I hit it rich, Ill use this to build the real one.....
  4. Now thats even more impressive that you built this from that kit. Seriously, great job. I was playing around with one of these kits. Ill have to finish it and post. Where did the wheels come from? They tie the whole truck together. Like I always say " a model is made or lost by the wheels". This one is perfect.
  5. Clean build and the right colors. Good job!
  6. Beautiful truck! Looks very real. What kit did you start with?
  7. Good job man! Very nice build. Those wrecker bodies are hard to make look good, but you pulled it off.
  8. Lookin good! Very straight and clean
  9. Awesome build!! The recreation of the stripes is amazing. Tyrone would love it!
  10. Me personally, I have a ton of truck models still in the box. At any given point, I can be working on ten of them at a time. There are some however, that were vintage still sealed when I bought them. These are just for display. I couldnt bring myself to open them. I have duplicates of most of them anyway. To name a few of them; Mack DM800 with gravel trailer - still sealed Autocar dump truck 1st edition - still sealed Coors Freightliner Big Rig set - still sealed Peterbilt wrecker 2nd edition - still sealed Now, I cant promise that after the next millenium when I run out of stuff to build, that these wont get opened. I would like to see them in a modeling museum one day( someone needs to build one).
  11. Thanks. Tyrones trucks are definitley an inspiration here. I was actually reading an article on a truck called the " Bad Brahma Bull", an old White 3000 coe with an Allison engine mounted behind the cab. That kinda got the gears turnin
  12. That is a Mack LTL. It is made in resin by A. I.T.M. Very nicely detailed kit.I think he even has the double mercury sleeper
  13. AITM sells them in resin. I have some on a dump trailer and a lowboy. A lot of the old trailers I remember had those wheels.Youll have to email Dave and ask, because there not on the webpage. There in the old catalog from M.T.F.C.O, but Dave has sold them to me before.
  14. I built some fenders that will mount to the spindle assembly and steer with the wheels. I also narrowed the grill a lil more. It didnt have the slim bomber look I wanted. Now its just right. I added some bracing to the front axle. I had hit a wall with what I was going to do with the body. At first I was going to leave the empty space between the cab and tail. Then I had an idea to create a kind of fuselage that flowed into the back of the cab. This is what I came up with. Now it looks like a shark.
  15. It looks like your off and running. So, did you use the Krupp titan kit, or is this the Chevy titan?
  16. Tim Alborn made an AMT trailer hauling a load of truck models boxes. Check his website.
  17. Did some prelimenary sanding/shaping of the body.Gettin ready for some primer. Robbed an Allison trans out of my Super Boss to mate up to my Allison V-12's.Im going to resin cast it,as I will need more..... With the wing.....
  18. Made some #'s for the doors. Wanted them to look hand painted.
  19. Very clean and authentic. Fine job
  20. Awesome job! Great work on the trailer
  21. Frontier Resin Designs. You can find them on ebay. They make a bunch of obscure older trucks. Ancient GMC's studebakers, dodge big horns, mercury's etc. Ive bought a few of their cabs including the daycab version of this Federal.
  22. AITM and Illini Replicas both have some Diamond T cabs available. I am actually mastering a few Diamond T's that Im going to cast in the next few months. A 901/910 has a very similar style to that Federal.
  23. Whoa! Whoa! Negatory! Negatory! When we say we gonna do a job, we do a job! We aint never not made it yet, aint we? So move over and lets introduce em to the boy!
  24. I have one of these cabs as well. Im planing on building a truck from a photo that I have that is a single axle. Im going to use an Opel Blitz fire truck kit as the donor bc it seems very similar to trucks from that time.
