  1. Looking good so far. The skinnier the hood, the better!
  2. I have a bunch of these kits(at least 2 of every version) but I have never built one yet. Ill be watching this. Good start.
  3. Its actually a resin coated shelf. Glass would have been easier.......
  4. Found a pic of it in the lot I bought it in.Wanted to show the shape it was in when I bought it.
  5. Ive been posting in the Big truck section, so its time I post some of my other stuff. I picked up two of these destroyer kits a while ago and figured Ide give them a proper build up as if they were a real truck. Im building them as one truck turned into the other truck over time. There is a lot of scratchbuilt stuff and some resin parts. Chassis of Destroyer 1 Chassis of Destroyer 2 http://i972.photobucket.com/albums/ae203/oscarjones007/dest5.jpg http://i972.photobucket.com/albums/ae203/oscarjones007/destr1.jpg http://i972.photobucket.com/albums/ae203/oscarjones007/destr4.jpg Some build info: Destroyer 1 added flanges to flemsey kit frame. Cut off spring mounts and fabbed some more realstic ones.Added Ford rear ends from Louisville kit with steering knuckles added. Fenders enlarged and flares made. Windshield cut to proper height. Bed floor replaced.Stock tires from the kit doubled up. Destroyer 2 added flanges to frame and built subframe under stock frame as many trucks had.Same mods to leaf springs, used same Ford rear ends. Stacked differential made by turning rears up and mounting a smaller differential on the top of it creating a 90 degree driveline. Resin steering knuckles added to front and back. This truck also has a 2nd engine in the bed with a 2nd trans and transfer case.Tires are monogram 1/24 making them 73" in 1/25 scale. Also doubled up.Large fender flares are made from four rear fenders from a 50 Ford truck kit.Body made into one piece flip top. Both trucks will be candy apple red with Destroyer kit decals. Thanks for looking
  6. Great job on the motor transplant. Great job on the truck all together. Now it needs to be hooked up to a couple of single vans, or tankers.
  7. Very cool. It looks great with the bigger Alcoas from the White kits( FL, R Boss, W Star). I dont know why AMT didnt use these wheels with all of their kits. The Ford looks great.
  8. Alan, Im sure someone else can confirm, but Im pretty sure that someone resin casted that Pete cab. Im also pretty sure that I saw one on ebay recently. Thatll save a lot of modifying. Ill keep my eyes open.
  9. Ha! No way! Ive seen his Mack, but I didnt know he had a Pete. Awesome! Cant wait
  10. Ill be the first to say, Awesome job Alan! These trucks came out great! I think a lot of us will be inspired to add these to our build list as well. As you know, I had started a Boss truck a decade ago and now I want to finish it. Seriously, great job!
  11. Awesome build! I love the color scheme. Great job
  12. Here is a paint job Ive always liked, since you mentioned blue
  13. You can never go wrong with red & white
  14. Holy Hauler Batman!!! How do you crank these out so fast? This is impressive to say the least. Youve raised the bar on the Malone trucks, building the two that were never available as a kit. Whats next? Defiance, the wheel standing Freightliner Coe with the P51 engine?
  15. Very nice. In my opinion, this is a hard kit to look realistic. The cabs always look to big for some reason. Ill go out on a limb and say that this is the best 352 build that Ive seen. Great job. All the little details make all of the difference.
  16. Looks like your off and running! Cab looks great! Good job on the cut down. I was wondering if you had aquired another bed, but scratchbuilt is the way to go! I cant wait to see it done with the Boss truck hitched up.
  17. Just amazing. That trailer is beyond impressive. Excellent job.
  18. Finally buckled down and got all of the body complete. Every hole and crevase is filled with a piece of plastic and ready for filler and finishing.
  19. Its coming along awesome. The scratch built bed makes all of the difference. Certainly better than sticking a stock chevy or ford bed behind a pete cab. The only suggestion I have is, I would rotate the fuel tank so that the flat part of the mounts are down on the bed floor. If you were doing this 1:1 you would want the tank mounted to the frame rails rather than the back wall of the bed. Good luck with your build!
  20. Ive never seen that either. Are there any pics if that truck?
