  1. Cool grab. I bought two of these when they came out. I know there are PE sets for these, but Dave has the MACK grill letters in pewter for this truck also. Are you gonna build it with that big nasty sleeper? I can see you slamming this with a drop visor, wicked stacks, daycab, and decked frame.
  2. Maybe so, I dont recall. Its a common phrase.....
  3. I got a little more done on the rear end of the trailer. I drilled for tail lights, and framed them in. It all needs to be shaped and blended.
  4. Ive done that same thing. I have two of the MPC Dodges and the EL Camino. I grafted on the knuckles as well. They are going on my Bigfoot 1 rebuild.
  5. Dang Brian! I'd hate to know what you paid for those Broncos. Well, you got some good 5tons and leaf springs now.
  6. That is just pure awesomeness! I love the spokes, the color scheme, the dump trailer, the daycab patch, and everything else about it. Great work.
  7. Excellent work Sam. Ive been looking in, and I like this build. There is a lot of potential in these Paystar kits that is not often explored. It seems to be overlooked in the class of Autocars and Mack DM800s being built as heavy haulers. I like everything you have done so far. Im hoping it ends up with a big tough bumper up front. Keep truckin!
  8. Do you have any pics of it? Or any info of what model it might be? There are a few resin options out there, but it depends on what it was.
  9. The mudflaps would be red with the Pete logo in white. If you spray them red you can wet sand the logo back out. And for the grill, if you cut the moulded in screen out and let the radiator shutters show itll be just like the 1:1.
  10. Great work Jarda. After watching your 351 build, I cant wait to see this unfold. Very great choice of subject as well.A little window Pete with a Mercury sleeper is just too cool for school!
  11. Thanks a lot fellas, Dennis that dozer is a diecast unit. I like it because its cable operated like my Grampas old Cat. Thanks Dan, scratchbuilding is a curse. This was supposed to be an out-of-the-box build. Well, since Im scratch building a 5th wheel, I figured Id make it functional. Its not realistically accurate, but itll hold a trailer. Tell me what ya think.
  12. I started scratch building a 5th wheel because the 1/25 wheel on a 1/24 truck wasn't cutting it. It was just a tad too narrow, and the pivots needed to be sitting on top the frame rails. And after some consulting with Dennis(Tesla), I was swayed to build a dovetail on the lowboy.
  13. Your builds are nothing short of impressive. Ill admit Im not familiar with these type of trucks, but I can appreciate the work nonetheless.Excellent job.
  14. I recommend using the saved search option on ebay. It will let you know when new things are listed. I only grab things when the price is right. I bought a $300 locomotive for $35, because the poor guys kids were selling off his estate. I would never pay hundreds of dollars for diecast. You just have to find the right deal. Keep dragging the net, youll get what you want.
  15. I like collecting 1/25 die cast equipment like vintage dozers and draglines. I'm modifying a G scale locomotive for my beam trailer. I've used a big piece of PVC pipe also. When it comes to a load, the more creative the better. A junked, or restored truck always makes for a good haul also.
  16. There are lots of options, 60,000 lb plastic rolls of steel, 80,000 lb hollow logs, styrene "I" beams, or it could be loaded with a stack of AMT flatbeds, but then they would need to be arched too.....oh well. I have a balsa wood concrete beam on my Ertl stretch trailer. I prefer lowboys, and the load of choice is a 80,000 lb styrene D8.
  17. Some people are shy, or just dont want to give bad advice. There are always a disproportionate ratio of views to replies. It could be the same guy looking 200 times. Who knows, thats just the way it bee.....
  18. The easiest way would be to cut new arched frame rails from styrene and use the rest of the kit.
  19. Excellent work as usual Pavel! The cab looks good lowered.
  20. Absolutely amazing work.
  21. Great work man. I enjoy watching you crank these trucks out JT.
