  1. Ive done it once, but I made some other mods to the trailers and decided I didnt like it and sold it. The trailers build up the same, you just have to build the dolly. The tailgate of the front trailer is angled, but this isnt hard to do. Thats a mod I usually make on all of my dump trailers. I have the original instructions on how to do this. I can scan them for you if you want just let me know.
  2. Nice work so far Brian. Cool mods also. I like the color, and the overall plan sounds cool.
  3. I dont like it, and I wont build a model of it. But, they have been building crazy concept rigs like this since the 60s and almost none of them have gone into production. I remember just as silly looking concept trucks in the 80s. The bottom line is, all of this stuff will make it out there eventually, but the golden age of trucking is dead. Thats why we build models of trucks from times gone by. Im sure the same outrage was had by the guys driving the old chain drive Macks when they saw the 1st Peterbilt with a tilt hood, air ride, and a sleeper.
  4. They both look great, but the lil unit with the Alcoas is my favorite.
  5. Great work on the lines Sam. That looks top notch. With the detail your putting in thus far, I can only image how cool the finished product will be. Great work on the deck plate also!
  6. Thanks Tom. I moved the firewall back about .200, and the radiator forward just a tad so it will fit tighter against the open grill. I need to do some comparison measurements to the snap kit to see why the engine won't fit in the AMT kit.
  7. Sean that reminds me, Can I borrow a cup of KWs?
  8. No, I actually didnt do anything to them. There just old out of the tire box. Sean(Old Buckaroo) uses a small sand blaster with glass bead to dull his tires. I usually take some sand paper to the tread, but eventually I will probably blast mine also.
  9. Mike if I havent said it before, that thing is the Boss!! Too cool man.
  10. The Orange Blossom Special was one of the coolest and best looking pullers from the time period(1980s). It was built by Allen Gaines of Georgetown Kentucky. This kit is usually very expensive. I believe there were only three puller kits made in all. Heres a video of the real truck. http://youtu.be/ISBJKY8hwnM
  11. Cool man, lets do it! The more the merrier. I dont have a whole lot of info on the HB 6. I have some driver side pics of a military truck with one, and some pics of an AC Mack with one. Im going to do the best I can with what I have and thatll be ok for me. PM me your email and Ill send you what I have.
  12. Great work. Super clean build.
  13. Thanks for taking the time to do this JT. I dig seeing how it's done. I'm tuned in for the next episode
  14. Thanks to all that have participated in this thread so far! Ive enjoyed seeing all of the builds.
  15. Lookin good man. I like JTs idea of coming straight out the back. I think it would look killer.
  16. Yeah, next time I will only do this motor swap on a long hood.
  17. Oh man that is FINE!! Great job Hessell. This is one of the best replicas of a real truck that Ive seen.
  18. I let all of mine go in a junk box. I like the ones from the Midnite Cowboy wrecker, but those are rare.
  19. Excellent idea gator. Ive got a few old Ford dually projects stashed, and the kit wheels dont do it for me.
  20. Thanks Sean. I worked on the trailer wheels tonight. I hollowed out the wheel backs by drilling holes and cutting out the remainder. Using the square hole drums from the gravel trailer kit, I cut off the outer lip. I then filed them down to the square protrusion. I then glued this to the back of the tri spoke.
  21. Mine will be wearing some AITM wheels. Go check em out if you havent.
